I went back to the dining room and apologized for the phone call.
I sat down and continued to eat as my mom and Ashton's parents were having a conversation.
They were now discussing the date that the wedding should be held.
But they said that we should get to know each other better. All I could have done was nod my head in agreement.
I felt like tearing myself into 100 pieces. Life is just too cruel.
We were to have 'something like a date' and 'get to know each other' until the wedding day came.
The wedding date was set to be on the 27th October, which was at least a month from now. We had a lot of time to kill each other by then, don't you think so?
We left their place at around 9pm. It was late and I had to pry mom out of their house to go home.
When we reached home, I parked the car in the garage and went inside.
I sat on the sofa in the living room as my mom sat next to me. She began to talk about how happy she was that I was getting married and how lonely the house would be without me.
Only then did I realize how much I would actually miss it at home with mom.
I told mom I was tired, scared that if we continued talking, the water factory would open.
I said good night and went to my room. I closed my door and began to think about how shitty my life is probably gonna get.
I mean I have to get married in a month or less. I barely even have time for myself these days and people expect me to have time to also take care of a husband.
I know how my mom feels about love and marriages so I want to know why she wanted me to get married.
I lived alone with my mom in a reasonably big house.
I have a puppy called Jinjin. I hadn't really been paying attention to him lately so mom's been taking care of him.
I went outside and took him out of the kennel. He ran towards me instantaneously.
I loved Jinjin from the bottom of my heart. I had to beg my mom so that I could get him.
FLASHBACK
"No you are not getting that dog!" Mom yelled in frustration. "Mom, it's only a puppy and it needs a loving and caring family which we can provide." I stated.
"First of all, you can't even take care of yourself properly, what makes you think that you're gonna be able to take care of the puppy. Second, let's say you do get it, who's gonna take care of him while you're at work?" She stated her reasons why, which were somewhat facts.
"Mom if I get a puppy, I can show you just how responsible I can be. Second, yes you may have to take care of him while I'm at work, but you won't have to do it for long. Just until he's old enough to be home by himself" I responded.
"I refuse to have a dog running around my house with its muddy paws" mom argued back.
"Please" I begged her, showing her my puppy eyes.
After what had seemed to be an eternity of convincing, I got him.
He was so small when I adopted him. He was ivory white and his tail wagged happily whenever he saw me.
END OF FLASHBACK
I carried him inside and to my room. I closed the door once again as I went onto the bed and played with Jinjin.
I swear to god, puppies and dogs are the cutest living animal alive. But then again, I can't forget about pandas.
Now if I start this discussion of cuteness I will never end.
I changed to my nightclothes and brushed my teeth.
I was just too lazy to take shower.
I got into to bed and I snuggled up in the blanket with my dog. In no time, we were both fast asleep.
