"So, tell me about your life. What do you do with your time?"
When we arrived home, we straight away got out blankets and pillows, as it had started pouring it down. We set them up on the sofa, with a hot chocolate Logan made before going to Jack's for something. He had phoned him saying it was urgent and he needed to get his arse to his house as soon as possible, so of course Logan agreed without hesitation.
I didn't say much, and Logan could tell I was off as I dodged his kiss as he left. All these secrets going off are starting to really annoy me. I assured Taylyn I was fine, I had her with me anyway.
"Where to start? I go to a school near my apartment block, I'm year eleven obviously."
"What do you want to do after school?" I asked.
"I'm not sure yet. I love just living in the moment. I basically love all the things you do, but i can't think of anything I could make a living out of that I would be successful in." She explained.
I took a sip of my drink. "You'll find it soon. It's a part of finding yourself."
"I feel like finding myself is something I need to do soon." Taylyn laughed, giving me a half hearted smile that didn't reach her ears. She was joking and trying to lighten the situation but I know she was being serious.
"It's probably best you do, and don't spend a day of your life doing something that bores you."
Zoe had said that to me from the day I first moved in. She's always telling me not to waste another day, just live life to the full because you never know when it could be taken away from you. It's hard hitting, but more than true.
"If I'm honest, I need to get my shit together."
"And what do you mean by that?" I asked.
"At the minute, all I'm doing is going to school, partying and sleeping." She replied. It fell silent for a moment, while I thought back to my days of that life.
"I get bored in the apartment on my own so I'm always at someone's house or out causing trouble."
"What about your friends?"
"I don't really have proper friends, all I have is girls that say they're my friends for the money and popularity. I've never had someone stick around for me."
"Taylyn, I know what you feel like. I was the exact same back in Bristol. Once I moved here no one from back there gave a shit about me, but then I met new people. Maybe that's what you need to do." I suggested.
She smiled. "I was worried for coming here, in case people thought I was in it for the followers or just to be friends with famous people. But I'm glad I have, you're genuine. One of the most genuine people I've met."
"I'm glad you came too. From the messages we've exchanged and the couple of hours I've been with you, I can tell we're very alike and we're going to get on better than I have with any other girl before."
———
"What?! You've never tried pineapple on pizza?" Taylyn exclaimed.
"No!" I shook my head, trying to argue out my point.
"Then how can you claim to not like it!"
"If enough people can say it's wrong, then surely there's something wrong with it. Hence why I won't try it." I explained.
"Bitch you're crazy." She sighed a disapproving sigh, shaking her head at the same time.
"Says the girl who thinks Shawn Mendes can't sing." I gave her a wide eyed knowing look and she sank back into my sofa.
"I never said he can't sing, I just said he could be better."
"How dare you even insult him."
"Oh get over it."
"How dare you."
"Get. Over. It."
"How. Dare. You."
"Tia Deyes, I dared. Now get over it."
"Okay, I'm over it." I sank back too, laughing at our stupidness.
There was silence, but not awkward silence. The past few hours have been great, with me and Tay messing around and just enjoying each other's company. She's easy to get a long with, as well as being a feisty character. She's the type of person that can come up with a great insult or come back within two seconds.
"Have you ever been clubbing?" Taylyn asked randomly.
I looked at her, and considered telling her or not. I've known her for a couple of hours but I trust her more than I did Lexie and Paige when I'd known them for a week.
"Yeah, back in the old days. Haven't been in years though."
"Oh, I didn't realise you were like that." She sounded a bit guilty, like she knew she shouldn't have asked the question.
"Yeah, I was... bad. I've realised that's not the way to live, and how stupid I was sneaking in to clubs at fourteen years old thinking I was twenty one. Worst mistake of my life."
"I'm sorry-"
"Don't be, it's totally fine. I'm over it." I mocked.
She laughed, "Great. The last thing I want is you on my back about Shawn Mendes."
"I'm not quite over that yet-" my phone began to ring, cutting me off. "Sorry." I said, dishing out my phone from my back pocket. Taylyn nodded understandingly. The caller ID said mum, so I swiped the screen across.
"Did someone say early flight home?" Zoe's cheery voice said.
"I don't know, did they?!" I basically screamed.
"Yes, me, just then." She joked.
"Ahhh! When?"
"We'll be home tomorrow darling. How are you?" Mum asked.
Taylyn flicked through a copy of my book, pulling impressed faces at every page. She was acting like she'd never seen or read it before, even though earlier she told me she'd read it multiple times.
"I'm fine mum. I'm with Taylyn actually. How are you and the others?" I answered, rolling my eyes at Tay at the same time.
"We're all doing great but I'm going to have to go, we're in the middle of a shopping centre and I'm about to be trampled on by viewers." She rushed out, kind of laughing at the same time.
I chuckled, "Bye mum, I love you."
"I love you too, bye."
My phone beeped and the call ended.
Taylyn smirked, "Who wrote this bag of shit?"
