|the next day |
The third day was the same routine. It was us waking up early to improve our quirks. I could now hold my third stage for 6 minutes which wasn't much of an improvement but that extra minute could really come in handy.
Meal time eventually arrived and we had to cook our meals once again. I wandered around helping out every which way I could till I came to a stop next to Bakugou whom was aggressively chopping veggies.
"Wow that's unexpected Bakugou-san your knife skills are impressive!" Ochaco gawked. "What do you mean it's unexpected how can you expect me to be bad at anything!" He raged causing me push Ochaco slightly back and take her place in front of him defensively. "Oh please, don't act so perfect. If they found out that you can't sw-"
"Shut up you hag!" He rages with explosive hands ready to target me but Momo steps in between us with a scolding look. "Come on Izanami, can't you two go a minute without being at each others throats."
"She fucking started it!" Bakugou barked.
"And I'll finish it too!" I barked back with equal intensity as lightning zapped between our eyes.
"Enough!" She huffed dragging me over to Shotos area where he was cooking meat. "Here, Todoroki-San can you keep an eye on Izanami?"
"Oi I don't need a damn babys-"
"I'll try."
"I'm right fucking here!" I snapped as Momo left with a small wave as if I was her child she had dropped at school on the first day. "Stay out of trouble." She called.
"F-mf," I nearly choked on the meat that had been shoved into my mouth. Swallowing the food, I glare at the calm half and half boy. "I am not some child, don't feed me!" I hissed as the boy shifted his attention back to the meat. "Is it to tender?"
"Leave it on for approximately 25 seconds mor- dont change the subject!"
"Gomen."
I puff my cheeks in annoyance and take a step closer to the grill next to him, seasoning the meat as I had done before. Whilst I sprinkled the seasoning I glanced curiously at the stoic boy but my eyes widen at the small smile that was once again etched into his features. It was hard for me to understand but it made me feel pleasant seeing him content for once. Almost like watching a child take its first steps. It was nice to know I wasn't the only one changing around here.
"So you'll let the half and half bastard touch you but not me."
The memory of our odd moment on the bus came into play making me take a step back and away from the boy unconsciously.
"Ano...I'm going to go see if Izuku needs any help." I mutter swiftly and dash off before he could try to stop me.
"That was weird." The boy muttered scratching his cheek at the place the girl had stood at before. She had been acting strange ever since he had touched her. Did I overstep? He thought in confusion as he continued cooking the meat. It's not like the two were very touchy so maybe him touching her was a bad idea. The last thing Shoto ever wanted to do was to make his friend uncomfortable but he had noticed the way she'd wince whenever she moved or touched her neck. He just wanted to numb the pain, it was the least he could do considering he wasn't there to protect her at the Mall as he had visited his mother. Speaking of his mother, I wonder what Kaa-San would think of her?
