The discs soon arrive, they lead to questions.

From Mack particularly, "So we get on those, and they take us down through the Earth?"

"Geothermal gravity bubbles, or something." Rory and I state at the same time. I smile and highfive him for being the same level of nerdom as me.

"They sent five." Ambrose pointed out.

I look at her with my eyebrow raised, "Yeah, One for you, Rory, your dad, Me, and Alaya. Why so surprised?"

"Wait. Before we go down, there's something I've got to do. Dad? I need your help." Mack nods and they leave.

"I don't trust them." I whisper to Rory, "At least, not Ambrose."

Alaya nodded, "You are smart, she is the one with the most to lose, making her emotional and irrational."

I smile at her, "Glad that we agree on something."

She looks away from me, probably mad at herself for breaking her silent streak. Mack and Ambrose soon come back and we hop on the transport and head down.

We stand in the doorway, Alaya in chains and we surround her.

"Here they are." The Doctor gestures to us happily.

"Mum!" The youngest boy runs to Ambrose. Amy runs to Rory.

"Something's wrong." I am glad I wasn't the only one to feel that way.

"Alaya is fine, so we can leave. Right?" Amy looks to the Doctor and to the other Reptilians in the room.

Just as one in fancy get up nods another one with a large army behind her marches in

"You want us to trust these apes, Doctor? Even if they bind my sister in chains?" The leader of the troops called to him.

I glare at her, "It was for our safety, she has attacked us before."

She glared at me back, "Only because your kind attacked us first."

The Doctor was assuming the worst, seeing as how a lot of angry people had guns, "There is a whole race of dazzling, peaceful human beings up there. You were building something here. Come on. An alliance could work."

"It's too late for that, Doctor." Ambrose, what did you do?

"Why?" The Doctor and I looked to her in unison.

I was beyond mad, she gulped, "Our drill is set to start burrowing again in fifteen minutes."

"Are you an idiot? There was nothing to worry about!"

"They had Elliot." Mack defended his daughter.

"Don't do this. Don't call their bluff." The Doctor looked to the leader.

"Let us go back. And you promise to never come to the surface ever again. We'll walk away, leave you alone." I want to smack Ambrose, she done messed up.

The leader looked distasteful, then Alaya looked to the troops, "Execute her."

"No!" I pull Ambrose and run with her, I may be angry with her, but her death isn't necessary. There is a time and place.

"Everybody, back to the lab. Run." The Doctor shouts from behind us.

"Execute all the apes." I can't tell which one yelled that out.

We get to the lab, The reptilian in robes with us, and the Doctor seals us in

The Doctor starts calling out orders, "Elliot, you and your dad keep your eyes on that screen. Let me know if we get company. Amy, keep reminding me how much time I haven't got." He tossed Amy a stop watch.

She started at it, "Okay. Um, er, twelve minutes till drill impact."

The Doctor stares at me for a minute, then turns away and pushes some buttons.

"Doctor, shed-load of those creatures coming our way. We're surrounded in here." Mo called out.

I was loosing ability to focus. My chest was burning, my control on the Empathetic Psychic connection was slipping away. I could feel the tension rising. The fear.

"So, question is, how we do stop the drill given we can't get there in time? Plus, also, how do we get out, given that we're surrounded? Nasreen, how do you feel about an energy pulse channeled up through the tunnels to the base of the drill?" The Doctor looked to the woman that I haven't spoken with.

Nasreen looked shocked, "To blow up my life's work?"

The Doctor claps his hands, "Yes. Sorry. No nice way of putting that."

"Right, well, you're going to have to do it before the drill hits the city, in er.." She looked to Amy to get a time.

Amy called out, "Eleven minutes forty seconds."

The Doctor smiled, "Yes. Squeaky bum time." Why is that a good thing? I sink to the floor, I must've been off with my calculations.

Nasreen looked to me, a bit concerned, then back to the Doctor. "Yes, but the explosion is going to cave in all the surrounding tunnels, so we have to be out and on the surface by then."

"But we can't get past Restac's troops." Rory pointed out. He also looked worried.

The Robed Reptilian spoke up, "I can help with that. Toxic Fumigation. An emergency failsafe meant to protect my species from infection. A warning signal to occupy cryo-chambers. After that, citywide fumigation by toxic gas. Then the city shuts down."

"You could end up killing your own people." I look to him, concerned. One may cause my death, but that doesn't mean they all deserve to die.

He shook his head to me, "Only those foolish enough to follow Restac."

Doctor looked a little upset at this, "Eldane, are you sure about this?"

He nodded, "My priority is my race's survival. The Earth isn't ready for us to return yet."

"No." The Doctor agreed, bummed out that we didn't change the future of mankind.

Amy interjected, "Ten minutes, Doctor."

"But maybe it should be." The Doctor formulates a plan, "So, here's a deal. Everybody listening. Eldane, you activate shutdown. I'll amend the system, set your alarm for a thousand years time. A thousand years to sort the planet out. To be ready. Pass it on. As legend, or prophesy, or religion, but somehow make it known. This planet is to be shared."

"Yeah. I get you." Elliot nodded, excited to do something cool probably.

"Nine minutes, seven seconds."

The Doctor ram to the controls and smiled, "Yes. Fluid controls, my favorite. Energy pulse. Timed, primed and set. Before we go, energy barricade. Need to cancel it out quickly."

"Fumigation pre-launching." Eldane was at the controls too.

Rory turned to the monitors, "There's not much time for us to get from here to the surface, Doctor."

"Ah ha, super-squeaky bum time. Get ready to run for your lives. Now." He did something and the computer went off.

"Toxic fumigation initiated."
