"So you and Brock get along well enough that you're willing to bunk with me when he is with McKenzie?" I teased as we were laid out on the couch with Finn currently in the shower.
"One could say that." She mused, "Their place is quite isolated and I like hiding out there but its also not ideal to be there alone without anyone to check up on you. I mean I'm not a kid but I like knowing someone is around."
"Around for what?" I frowned and she simply shook her head.
We hadn't known eachother for too long and with her not being on the road much, forming a close bond was kind of tough. I wasn't one to really text endlessly with people or checkup really. It wasn't that I didn't care, I really did. Its just that I tended to be awkward and the fear of being judged for it lead to me just not trying to deal with people at all.
"Have you seen Jeff around work lately?" She questioned and her voice sounded nonchalant but I knew what it held. Its what mine held when I asked my friends if they had spotted Seth around.
"Yeah we hung out on Raw for abit. " I shrugged as we had while he had caught me with the guitar of Elias. I had found it strange that he had actually bothered talking to me and I had kind of annoyed myself by thinking aloud with him.
She slowly nodded.
"Its just that we usually text randomly. Its not fixed, we just kid around but two days later and I feel like he might be ignoring me." She sighed with a small giggle before sitting up. "But I guess the road gets busy."
"It really does though" I added as it seemed she was bothered.
"I know it does. When I used to be on the road my family would constantly bash my head in for not keeping in contact and I'd get annoyed feeling like they didn't want me spreading my wings. And now I'm on the outside looking in and sometimes you do feel like while you're at home you're forgotten. Not just by the world but by the people who were your family for a long time." She said thoughtfully and I stared at her as I wasn't sure how to react. I knew she wasn't a very vulnerable person so perhaps me reacting a certain way would make her regret speaking.
"Paige, if you think that Jeff is going to forget you I highly doubt it." I wasn't sure why she was currently tied to Finn when she was clearly pining after Jeff.
"Oh, my dear Lexi. We like to believe that guys are these angels at times, that one out of the rest will be different and be so consumed by you that no other will be tempting. However that's never the case." She shrugged.
"You say it as if you were cheated on in the past."
"You say that as if it were impossible." She countered.
