Kyrie Irving, The Praying Mantis, led a small battalion of Celtic Knights through the dense forest in search of their old comrade, Evan Turner. It had been years since he was last seen and it was rumored that he disappeared somewhere in the far west. Upon reaching an open glade in the forest, Irving raised his fist to halt his fellow men. He listened to the calls of singing birds echoing through the trees before whispering to his men.
"Keep yours eyes open and be careful, for a dangerous sorcerer knight lives here. Be sure to lo—"
Before Irving could finish, a thick fog formed out of nowhere throughout the area. Panic set in within seconds as the Celtic knights stood back to back in a circle, hopelessly panning around for a way out. Then, an echoing voice that seemed to come from the trees themselves pierced through the fog.
"Maaaannnnttttttiiiiiiiiiisssssssssss..."
Jason Tatum, The Mountain Lion pointed upward and called out to his leader. "Look! In the large tree to the north!" That was when all the younger knights saw Damian Lillard, Lord of the Western Woods, for the first time. Before they could focus their collective sight, he leaped through the air an impossible distance to the branch of another tree behind them.
Irving whispered a fire-casting spell to no avail. After a few moments of no response from his wooden staff, repeated it once more with the same result. He began a third attempt when he was interrupted by Lillard's measured voice, still emanating from the trees around them.
"Mantis, you are indeed a powerful sorcerer, but these are not the Eastern Territories. Leave now and never return."
Tatum pointed and called out once more after Lillard finished. "There's more of them!", he cried out as more knights of the Western Woods began darting between the trees around them. Irving let down his guard, stood up straight and smiled.
"Very well Damian, you win. We shall take out leave. Maybe we'll see you again next June perhaps?"
"...No, no you will not.", Lillard responded with the same menacing tone, prompting a chuckle from Irving.
"Oh? That lacking in confidence in your abilities against the Golden Knights, eh?"
Lillard paused for a moment before delivering his final message of the encounter to the Celtic Knights.
"No. This shall be our final meeting, for you will not make it past the Lord of the Eastern Woods."
