Chapter 39: CHILDHOOD FRIENDS

JHOANA'S POV

I woke up early. My alarm was screeching in my ears. Who the hell set that? I don't even remember holding my phone the entire week.

"Wakey, sleepyhead! Rise and shine!" I found a pair of chinita eyes pinning on me. "What a great day to exercise, no?"

I can't believe her.

"Get up! I wanna run. Join me." She clasps her hands while giving me her puppy eyes- trying her best to be cute.

She thought she'll get me this way. No way! Seeing anyone is the last in my list.

I covered myself with my comforter. Just go back to sleep, Jhoana.

"Jho, please! My body is itching for some workout. Ilang araw na rin walang training."

Maybe she wants me to feel guilty. No training for the entire week. The management wants us to settle the issue first since no one's in the mood for the last few days. Marami rin ang laging absent, never kaming na kompleto.

"Ask anyone. Not me." I said it without looking.

"Who? No one's around."

"Really, Mads? Who are you kidding? This early? Mga tulog pa yun. Sila gisingin mo. "

"Nope! Walang umuwi last night. Tayo lang kaya ang nandito. You didn't know?" I don't know. I don't care. I'm not even going out my room. Ilang days na rin akong absent.

"Makitrain ka nalang sa basketball team. Nandun naman yung crush mo."

"I wish! Pero, Jho kailangan mo na ring gumalaw dyan. Kakalawangin ka sa training pagnagkataon. Ayaw mo naman atang mapahiya sa harap niya." And that's it! She's right. I should help myself or else no one will.

Ilang days na rin since the last time may nangungulit sakin.

Umupo ako sa pagkakahiga. Maddie is wearing her big smile.

"I knew you love me. I'll wait you down stairs. Be there in 15. Nakikiusap ako, bilisan mo naman."

I lazily got up to fix myself. Inabot din ata ako ng more or less 20 minutes aa loob ng CR. Maddie hates waiting pero wala akong magagawa, I'm not in the mood.

"Looking great, ate Jho!" That was Ria. Akala ko ba wala kaming kasama dito?

Sinamaan ko ng tingin si Maddie, she just gave me peace sign.

"Getting sexier and sexier each day." I stood frozen. It's been awhile since the last time I heard her voice.

"Tara na?! Sama daw si Kim, Jho." Maybe Maddie sensed my uneasiness.

"Okay lang ba?" I turned to her and nodded. Sino ba naman ako to prohibit her from running?

"You, Ri? You don't really wanna come?" We all faced Ria na busy sa ginagawa niyang peanutbutter jelly.

"Nope! I got visitor upstairs. Kayo nalang. I'm fine." She winked at us. And since Maddie's excited for a run, wala na rin siyang inaksayang oras. She pulled me and Kim na walang imikan.
