Chapter Forty-Five

Reinforced by another wave of water kingdom troops the battle raged on as Justice and his father fought alongside each other. After a small groan, Justice ducked under the tail swing of a feathered reptile that squawked at him like an abnormal ostrich. Getting ready to attack him again the creature was brought down as a dire wolf taller than Justice leaped on its back crushing the creature's neck in its jaw. When the dinosaur's body thudded against the ground, the wolf jumped off and looked at justice with a puppy like an appearance.

"Justice watch out!" He heard from behind him before a merman got impaled through the stomach by a spike of ice. Sickened by the gruesome scene, his stomach twisted as a werewolf near him fell after getting hit by a black ball of energy.

"Are you ok?" His father asked him and he then nodded.

"Yeah just caught me off guard," Justice stated before looking around.

"Ok well pay attention." His dad smirked, which disappeared after a werewolf killed the dire wolf that had helped Justice. Sensing a skeleton's aura next to him, Justice' father sunk into the ground turning into a narrow shadow that moved along the ground like oil. Sneaking up behind it. He turned back into a physical form and picked up the skeleton by the spine. He slammed the skeleton into the ground shattering it into pieces, "Fragile thing." He muttered as pieces of it clattered along the sand. Seeing a werewolf he slunk back into a shadow and moved towards him. Seeing the upcoming attack, the werewolf swung at the shadow missing when the shadow moved away. Turning back into his human form, Justice' father sent the werewolf backward with a powerful attack from his aura.

His father observed the battle from where he stood while the ground shook from the giant predatory dinosaurs that lumbered around fighting the enemy troops. They vocalized amongst themselves with terrifyingly deep vibrations that went right through him. After a werewolf killed another he managed to snake around a Griffin killing it easily from behind it. Its eyes went wide with horror before jumping away from the jaws of a Tyrannosaurs. Slashing wildly as its legs an orc and vampire jumped into the fight slowly killing the poor, cornered beast. Enraged by their savagery a Fairy flew down and threw a kunai at the orc's chest.

Not too far away, Justice killed a werewolf with another misty orb that was barely strong enough. Right after the werewolf collapsed Justice followed suit after killing a zombie with the same attack. Watching him collapse, Justice' father quickly rushed over before getting tailed by another vampire.

"Treacherous heathens!" The vampire shouted closing in before puttering as blue orbs of water flew at him nonstop rendering him almost blind. Unable to see, the vampire tripped over a sand dune colliding with a solid patch of stones. Getting dangerously close to Justice, a werewolf fell backward after being hit by a black orb from Justice' father. Using most of his aura, he landed next to Justice and reached out to hold his returned son's hand. Both of their bodies smoked as their auras were dangerously low.

"Dad! Justice!" Daniel yelled after watching his dad fall to the ground. "No, no, no," Daniel said skidding along the sand before looking at both of them. When he tried to touch them his hands burned, "I just got both of you back." Daniel said holding back tears. Then Bestienna came up behind him and he whipped around quickly.

"It's just me." She said quickly not wanting to get attacked, "They need to get out of here." She knelt beside Justice and picked up his pendant and handed it to him. He struggled to put it in his mouth as his arm shook violently as he moved. Not a moment later they were both enveloped in a protective layer of green light. Out of the light, two wooden wolves with long wood stakes as fangs growled lightly looking around them as security. After another moment a small wooden carriage with legs appeared and Bestienna motioned for a few people to come over, "Can you put these two in the carriage. They're too hot for anyone else to touch." She asked talking to two griffins. After they put them in the carriage they turned into griffins and cawed loudly as two fairies approached, "Your four-guard these two and take them to Isabel and Catarina in Pyrocan. Quickly now." Bestienna said and the group left with the wooden wolves bounding behind them disappearing into the city.

"They will be fine right?" Daniel asked and she pulled him into a light hug.

"I'll make sure of it." Bestienna said softly, "Now come on before this continues any longer. I bet there will be another volley of boats to dump more troops on the shore." They ran towards the other group where David and their mother were fighting alongside Sydney and Alise.
