Coven's POV

I'm known as the quietest Avenger. Even more quiet than Bucky. Everyone has tried every way imaginable to get me to say more than three words at once. I'm just quiet because I was trained to never respond unless ABSOLUTELY needed to. Hydra would punish every time I talked since the first day I got there. They took me when I was 8. Out of fear, I became semi-mute. To this day, I'm still just shake my head or talk with my eyes. I'm not trying to break the habit, I just let it be.

Steve took me under his wing, teaching me how to communicate differently with each person. Eventually, we started dating. The other describe our relationship as "They act like friends, but just kiss each other." We don't like to me extremely intimate, at least for right now.

It was a normal day at the tower, I was walking to the dining room table to join Steve and Sam with my glass of water when all of a sudden, a pain ripped through my arm along with a loud bang.

"FUCK!!" I shouted and dropped the cup, glass shattering. I dropped to me knees in shock, accidentally landing my hand in the shards below me. Everyone was silent. They had never heard me cuss before. Steve rushed to my side while Sam runs somewhere I couldn't see. My other hand grabbed the throbbing spot. Steve was still speechless from my outburst. My small whimper brought him back to reality.

"A-Are you okay?" Was all he asked. Really? I shake my head 'no'. He helps me up.

"Steve, that was a sniper!" Sam yelled, summoning his suit. Steve nods and rushes to me to the ER where Shuri is.

"What happened?" She asked, getting everything she needed for me ready. I sit on the examining table. Steve stood back and just stared at me. I stared back. Then, I gave him a 'what?' look.

"Its just...I have never heard you cuss before." He answered. I roll my eyes. All of a sudden I felt a sharp stinging pain.

"Ah!"

"Sorry, its just the alcohol." Shuri said. I shut my eyes and nodded.
