Steve's Secret

Steve's POV

I walked up to the key pad and punched in the correct numbers. "I'm punching in coordinates to a safe house we can all lay low in for a while." I announced to the driver, Clint. Clint nods.

"Fury send you them?" He asked in a bored tone.

"No." I answer. Clint looks at me weird and I just give him a tiny smirk.

Time Skip

"Uh, Clint? Why are we at a large farmhouse?" Tony asked, looking out the front window. Clint shrugs.

"Cap took us here." He responded. Tony looks at me. I ignore him. I stand up from my seat.

We all got out of the jet and walked to the house. Sadly, Tony was the first to enter. I heard a click of a gun. I rushed to stand in front of Tony. My wife stood there holding a gun to now my head. "Coven, hey, they're with me. It's okay." I assure. Coven sighs and puts the gun down. She stuffs it in her jeans.

"Steve." She whispers. I go and hug her. She kisses my cheek. I pull away and turn to the now confused Avengers.

"Everyone. This is Coven...My wife." I announce. Coven waves awkwardly.

"Sorry for pulling out my gun on you, Mr. Stark." She apologizes. Tony was in too much shock to answer. Natasha smiled at Coven.

"Hello? Don't you want to give your favorite teacher a hug?" Nat teased. Coven smiled and hugged Natasha.

We all got settled around the dining room table. Everyone's shock had already passed besides Tony's. "You have a wife?" He asked. I nodded. "You didn't think to tell me? Did any one know about this?" He asked. looking around. Nat nodded. Everyone else shook their heads.

"For your information, Tony, my whole life doesn't revolve around the Avengers. I'm allowed to have some of my own secrets. This secret didn't affect the team."I defended.

"But yet you told Nat. I thought I was your friend, Steve. You could have told me." Tony says. Nat buts in.

"I was told by Coven." She mumbles. Speaking of the Devil, coven walks in.

"Fury is on his way. Along with Hill." Coven tells me. I nod. She walks back into the kitchen. I could see Tony eyeing her.

"Tony." I growl, giving him an I'm going to kill you look.

"What happened to her?" Bruce asks, walking to stand behind Tony. I could see Coven in the kitchen. I scan her myself. Knee brace, wrapped up left arm, faint purple tint around her right eye, wrist brace on her right arm. He shirt covered the bandages on her torso.

"A mission. She's an Agent. That's actually how we met." I answer.

"Tell us more." Wanda requested. "I would rather think about something else." She added. Vision Places a hand on her shoulder. I nod.

"Well, what do you want to know?" I ask.

"How long have you two been married?" Tony interrogates.

"9 months." I answer. Bruce looked surprised. Before we could continue the conversation. Coven limped as fast as she could to the door. She opened it to reveal Fury and Hill. They walk in.

"To think you two were going to enter via a super cool and edgy way." Tony teases. In the corner of my eye, I could see Coven go back into the kitchen.

"This is too urgent. My resources are lacking." Fury responds. Coven comes out of the kitchen again. But this time, with two platters of variety of snacks. I chuckle. She rolls her eyes at me. She sets each plate down on either side of the table before tugging my arm. I stood up and she guided me into the kitchen.

"Look, I'm sorry for not calling-" I started before Coven crashed our lips together to shut me up. She pulls away to speak.

"I don't care. Are you hurt?" She asked, cupping the side of my face. I smile and shake my head.

"How are you? Getting better?" I ask, grazing my fingers around her left arm. Coven nodded, but bit her lip. "What?" I ask, knowing something is wrong.

"The doctor prolonged the time I need my knee brace." She answered. My jaw unhinged.

"What!? Why!?" I whisper yell. Coven chuckles nervously.

"I may or may not have injured it more." She mumbled. But I heard it perfectly.

"Coven!" I scold. She puts her hands on my chest.

"Steve! Let me explain." She defends. I wait. "Doc told me to exercise it. So I went through the woods to walk." I face palmed already knowing where this was heading. "Well...I...." She mumbled the rest. So quiet I couldn't hear.

"What?"

"Fallen into a ditch." She repeated. "Pretty sure there was dead bodies in there." She added to lighten the mood. I sighed before hoisting her up onto a bar chair. I leaned down to look at her knee. I reach out my hand to touch it. As soon as it does, Coven cries out. "Ow! Steve!" She says, pushing my hand away.

"When did this happen?"

"Two days ago! It's still Tender so don't touch it." She says.

"Trouble in paradise?" We hear Fury call. I help Coven down gently and we both walk out. "How's your knee?" He asks.

"Not the priority." Coven dodges. I go to sit back down. Fury chuckles.

Time Skip

After our brief...well...briefing, I settled everyone into rooms for the day. I went into to my room to catch up with my wife. I leaned against the frame as I watched her replace the bandages on her arm. I walk and sit on the bed to help her. She mutters a thanks.

After I finished with that, I kiss her deeply. So deeply, I made her fall back on the bed. She chuckles and hangs her arms over my neck. I go into a plank position in order to continue kissing her. I pull away after a minute to breathe. "I miss you." I say. Coven gives me a small smile.

"Maybe...now that your secret is out, you can come over more often. To, I don't know, be with your wife...maybe? Just a thought." She suggests. I chuckle.

"Yeah. Then I can keep her from hurting herself." I play along. Coven rolls her eyes. She stand from her place on the bed and looks out the window. I follow, standing right against her. I placed on hand on her shoulder, stuffing my face into her hair.

"Are they okay? Tony seemed really pissed when he found out about us." She asked.

"eh, Tony was just being Tony. Don't worry about him, doll. Were are just going to stay the night, and be out of your hair by the evening." I assure. Coven turns around and hugs me. I return me.

"I don't want you to leave." She whined. I chuckle.

"I'll ask Fury for medical leave."

"Why?"

"So I can take care of you. You think I don't see you limping? wincing when something brushes your arm? The way your breathe hitches from pain from your abdomen?" I ask, pulling away slightly so I can make eye contact with her. But she avoids it.

"Don't make this about me, Steve. You need a break too." She says, looking at me. I nod in agreement.

Big Time Skip because what the hell do I do?

Fury granted me my medical leave. I was on my way home now. Clint thought it was faster to just drop me off in the quintet. "Where do I land?" He asks.

"Just hover. I jump out." I answer. I could see Coven waiting for me on the porch, leaning against a pillar. I smile. I saw Tony staring at me. I gave him a 'what' face.

"This was a big secret you kept from me, Cap. I wonder if you have any more. Are your kids at school? Your Golden Retriever at doggy daycare?" Tony asks. I chuckle. Clint opens up the back.

"For your information, kid. Singular. Plus, it's a husky." I joke before jumping out.
