Kindergarten

Today was the first day of Kindergarten for my 5 year-old daughter, Ava. The Russo Brothers had let Chris come in late so he could be there with his daughter. Right now, Ava was being carried by Chris. She had her arms wrapped around his neck, face buried into his shoulder. Chris tried to use her as a cover from fans of all ages. As we walked down the halls, we heard crying and screaming from kids. Ava peeked out one time, immediately stuffing her face back in. "Awe, baby..." I trailed off, rubbing her shoulder. Chris kissed her cheek.

Mrs. Jones

Finally found her teacher. We can see kids in the classroom, tears still streaming down their faces. Parents trying to pry their kids off them. I gulp. The teacher stood outside the door awkwardly, smiling. I smile back. Chris squatted down and removed his hands. Ava unhooked herself. I could see that she was quietly crying into Chris' shoulder by her red face and Chris' tear-stained shirt. I squat down to. Ava's light brown hair covered half her face. I move it. "Alright Ava, you have to go. Mommy and I will be here soon to pick you up. Okay?"Chris said in a soft voice. Ava shook her head. More tears came down her face. I hugged her.

"I promise baby, the day will go by sooner than you think." I say, pulling out of the hug. Ava didn't look too convinced.

"Please don't leave me..." She whispered, voice wavering. It broke my heart.

"Hey, sweetie look at me." Chris commanded. "After school, Mommy is going to pick you up and drive you to y work. Where you can see Uncle Robert, uncle Sebastian, uncle Anthony." Chris explained with a fake smile. Ava perked up the slightest bit. I stood up and grabbed Ava's hand.

"I'll walk you to the classroom."

Time Skip

I parked the car and waited outside of it. I heard the bell and a flood of kids came out to the front of the school. I tried to spot Ava and her green denim vest. That's when I see her frantically looking for me. Once she spot me, she lights up. "MOMMY!" She cheers, racing as fast as she can, Avengers backpack bouncing. I smile and crouch down to her level. I scoop her up and blow raspberries into her cheeks. She giggles. I set her down, taking her backpack.

"How was your first day of school?" I ask. Ava's smile falters.

"I don't wanna go back." She says. I groan.

"Well, you're going to have to, sweetie. C'mon. Let's go see daddy."
