Visiting Loki in His Cell

Loki's POV

It was a dreadful day. I had wished she hadn't done it. I know Odin is going to have her head for it. Melody was blinded by her love. I feel so bad that I can't protect her for the inevitable.

It was a normal, boring day in my cell. Reading the same book for the 5th time. I was so sick of it. That's when I heard clacking of heels coming closer. I stood from my bed hoping it was Mother.

But someone in a dark cloak stood right in front of the glass. I squint to see who was under the hood. That's when the woman takes it off to reveal Melody. My jaw unhinges. Melody smiles at me. "Hello, my love." She whispers. It felt so nice to hear her voice again. Even though I barely could over the sound of my heart pounding out of my chest. I banged my fist against the wall. Melody's smiles drops.

"What the bloody hell are you doing here!? Are you trying to get yourself killed!?" I whispered harshly, spitting everywhere. Melody gulps.

"I needed to see you. I miss you very much." She whimpers, her eyes glossing over. I sigh and remove my fist, softening.

"I miss you too, my love. But if Odin catches you in here, it's off with your head. I wouldn't be able to live with myself if you were punished." I say, pacing a few feet back and forth. We sat in an awkward silence until she broke it.

"I know you are bored with the books you have. So I brought some new ones. Some, you have already read." She quips, holding up a satchel that was tucked away behind her cloak. I flash her a sad smile. She looks around before magicing herself into my cell. I immediately run to crash our lips together. I put one hand on her cheek and the other resting lightly on her wait. Both of her hands were on my shoulders. We pull away for air. "I miss that." She whispers. I nod.

"You must hurry before an oaf of a guard catches you." I say, removing my hands. She nods and swiftly taking out all five new books and replacing them with the old ones in the satchel. She turns to me before waving one last time, disappearing.

7 days later

There was a little light inside of me that hoped for Melody to visit again. But the logical side of me always kicked in and told myself what would happen if she got caught. But that's when I hear it.

"Good Evening, Loki." Her. I spun around, she was in the same cloak as last time. I roll my eyes.

"These are the times when I question if you even have a brain." I grumbled. Melody giggled. That was the main thing I love about her. I could insult her all day long and she would just laugh it off as if I gave her a compliment.

"You don't mean that my love. Here, I brought some new books." She whispered, taking out her satchel again before entering my cell. Before she could make another move, I gripped her waist tightly and gave her a long, loving, passionate kiss that lasted longer than it should have. We pulled away for air. Melody was breathless, staring into my eyes as I did hers. "Are you going to do this every time?" She breathed.

"There shouldn't be an 'every time.' You need to stop this madness. I'm just trying to savor the moment. Because this shall be our last. I love you too much to lose you, darling. I'm just trying to protect you the best I can from here." I explain, hands never moving. Melody nods.

"I understand, love. But I'm willing to risk it. For you." She argues. I sigh, knowing I can't change this stubborn woman's mind. She goes and changes out only half the books I've read before pecking me on the cheek, one more time before going away.

(7 Days Later)

Melody comes once again. This time, a smile. Well, it was only a half one. She returns it with a full smile. She magics herself into my cell and hugs me. My arms go around her waist. She lays her head on my chest while mine rests on her head. No words were exchanged at all. Well, until, Melody accidentally brushes her fingers over my very visible rib cage.
