Dangerous Little Girl

Sitting in my drafts. Its a piece of crap. You can skip. 

Steve's POV

I made sure everything fit right as I walked into the lounge to see everyone else in their gear besides Tony. "Ready?" I ask, grabbing my shield. murmurs of 'yes' could be heard quietly. We were all going to a orphanage for enhanced kids to talk to them about their powers and how to embrace them and blah blah blah. I looked at Tony. "Are you sure you want to go, Tony?" I ask. He nods. 

"Have to. Already filed for a tax ride off." He answered. I rolled my eyes. I set my shield on my back. In the corner of my eye, I spot Wanda pulling Bucky's mask off his face. Bucky flashed a small smile at her. 

"Avengers....Assemble." 

It took three SHIELD vans to bring all of us at once. A nice older woman met us out front. She smiled as we all exited our respective vehicles. "Thank you so much for coming! The kids really need this. Recently they have all been feeling a bit down. I know this will cheer them up." She greeted as we walked down the long halls of the building. 

"Where's miss peregrine?" Rhodes asked from behind me. The lady stopped and frowned. 

"She sadly died 10 years ago. But she fought valiantly trying to protect this home, though. Her death shall not be in vain." She replied. 

"I'm sorry for your loss." I say. She nods her head and keeps walking. 

"Ever since then, the kids had grown up. But since they have no where to go, they work and live here, helping the new recruits." She adds. 

Finally, we made it to the huge cafeteria filled half way with kids of all ages. Well, 6-16 to be specific. All the kids turned to us as the Avengers filed into the room, standing at the front. I couldn't read their faces. Some were curious, some were cautious, some had small smiles on their faces. "Everyone, these are the Avengers. I expect everyone to know their names from learning them yesterday. They are here to talk to you about your enhancements and how to learn to live with them. Captain, I'll hand it off to you." The Woman said, stepping aside. I step forward. It was refreshing that the kids didn't scream or yelled after the introduction. They were all quiet and attentive. 

"Hello. As you may know, I'm Steve, or Captain America." I started, "And someone told me that you guys and gals were having a bit of trouble embracing who your truly are. Now, I was once in your shoes. I, too, was given an enhancement. I was scared. But, with the help of friends, I learned to over come my fear." Was all I said before Tony pitched in. 

"Can you hurry it up, Capsicle. I want to show off my suits." He asked, arms crossed over his chest. All the kids chuckled. I smiled myself. 

"Alright. Since Iron Man is so impatient, I'll hand it back to your teachers." 

Everything was going great. We were all still in the cafeteria. Everyone was spread out. Tony brought some safe gadgets the kids played with, Bucky was a little circle of kids in front of him as they all listen to stories of the 40s, Wanda made magic holograms for the kids to play with. This was one of the best meet and greets I could ask for. But that all turned south when I saw a group of the teachers whispering among each other. They looked worried and scared. Suddenly, one of them grabbed their radio and shouted something into it. 

I hear doors shut and everyone perked up. The kids looked worried. I walked over to Ms. Bloom. "What's going on?" I ask. She hesitates before answering. 

"Well, you see, there is this one girl we have here. The most powerful of them all. She's missing. Mr. Rogers, I suggest you grab your shield just in case you run into her. She's very dangerous." I nod and walk over to Nat and Tony. 

"Apparently there's a girl missing. They say she's dangerous." I explained. That's when men in black came holding in weapons. Weapons that had a label. 

Stark Industries

I sighed and glared at Tony. He shrugged. I walked back over to Ms. Bloom, Tony and Nat behind me. "Would you like some help finding her?" I offer, knowing we were going to be stuck here since we are in lock down. She nods. Then, her radio went off. 

Subject has been found in back courtyard! Requesting back-up! 

Bloom got pale before dashing away. The Avengers follows. 

She leads us out back to a garden like area. In the middle, is a tall teenage girl with long black hair that stopped at the small of her back. Her hair covering half of her face. She is wearing a black sweater with black jeans and black combat boots. The most important detail though, is that dark purple mist and electricity was coming from her hands. As soon as she sees the Avengers, her eyes went wide and she aim purple fire at us. But before she could fire, the men aim their guns at her. "Don't shoot!" Bloom shouted. I held my shield up, covering my torso. "Juniper, put out the fire ball. They're here to help." Bloom said slowly, holding her hands up in defense. Juniper glances at us before blowing it out. 

Two SHIELD SUVs had roll in from behind. Maybe using a back gate or something. Fury steps out of one. "Juniper Jackson. Please relax before you get us all killed." He commanded, Maria walks up next to him. Juniper got scared and kneels to the ground, sending electrical currents through the earth. It shock everyone. I feel it go through me, freezing me in one position till I drop to the ground. I look around to see that two men had gotten up already. They grabbed their weapons and aim them at Juniper. 

The weapons sent some type of waves. This made Juniper stop her magic and place her hands over her ears, dropping to her knees. I hold my hand out. "STOP! You're hurting her!" I yelled. The men ignore me. "FURY!" I call. He glances at me, then sighs, holding up his hand. The men turn off the weapons. Juniper was now on the ground, whimpering, hands over her head. 

"Steve. Let me get close to her. I can read her mind and if she attacks, I can stop that." Wanda offered. I nodded. She calmly walks over to her. 

Wanda's POV

I crouched next to her. Her pained whimpers got quieter. I used my magic to read her mind. 

Just kill me now. I don't want to be here. 

It broke my heart to hear her mind. So many voices. All talking at once. I placed a gentle hand on her back. She flinches. "Hey, Juniper. My name is Wanda." I greet. She ignores me. 

"Look, we're here to help you. But you have to cooperate. Let me see your hands." I demand. Juniper raised her right hand. I placed my hand over hers. Her magic was powerful. Extremely powerful. "You are strong, Juniper. Please, these men won't hurt you unless you do something out of order. If you do everything I say, I'll promise you, you'll be okay." I say. She nods. I guide her to stand up. 

She keeps her head hung low. "Bring her to the Van. We're taking her to headquarters. " Fury ordered.
