Kiki's POV

"Kiki, you have been selected to be a handler."

"Handler?" I ask, confused. Handler for what? Weapons?

"The Winter Soldier's handler." He answered. Oh gods, I've heard stories about him. He's dangerous. I gulped.

"But, I'm only 13." I pleaded. He ignored my statement.

"Follow me, you shall meet him now."

He opened a heavy metal door, revealing a man with a metal arm and long, brown hair.He was sitting in a huge metal chair, just staring off into the distance. I try to hide behind him. "Soldier." He called in English, since he was at an American facility. Winter picked his head up to look at him. He spotted me. He noticed this and pushed me towards the soldier. "Your new handler. Do as she says." He said. With that, walking off. I stood there awkwardly, looking around the room for all of my exits. Winter just stared at me, awaiting his next command. I walk towards him.

"Hello." I greet in a sweet tone. The assassin looks confused at me. Like he's never heard that tone before. It broke my heart to see him like this. I crouch down and placed a hand on his knee, he flinches at first. "I'm Kiki." I added. He scanned me, as if to register my name and face into his memory.

They all yelled at him to stop. He was going to kill his opponent. "WINTER SOLDIER, STOP!" I screamed. The whole room got quiet. Even the sounds of grunting had gone away. Soldier froze in his place, slowly turning towards me. I clenched my jaw. "Here, now." I commanded. He bowed his head in shame. I never yelled at him. He slowly made his way around the fencing and to me. He stopped right in front of me. I grabbed his fore arm and lead him to his cell.

"I'm sorry." I heard him mumble. I stopped in my tracks and spun around around to face him.

"You didn't listen to orders. You were about to do unnecessary murder. Just because I'm your handler, doesn't mean you can ignore other orders. I'm going to tell you when NOT to follow an order. But not this time." I scolded. Winter avoided eye contact. I sigh and put him into his room. Kissing him goodnight on his cheek.

Time Skip (14 yrs old)

The machine turned off. Winter sat there, out of breath from all the screaming. I have become numb of this now, no more tears, I was punished for crying. I walked over to Soldier. "Leave us." I commanded. Everyone else in the room scattered away before I could let Winter on them.

I bent down and crouched next to Winter Soldier, placing a hand on his knee. He was still huffing and puffing. "Soldier, who am I to you?" I ask, a simple procedure for him after wiping.

"Handler." He answer without skipping a beat. I nodded. I stood up and so did he, still weary from the electricity. So, I hooked my arm around his waist and threw his metal arm over my shoulder. We walked back to his cell.

We were half way there when I decided to check my watch. 5:53. Almost time for his dinner.

I watched as the agent walked away. Then, I snuck in, making sure no one could see the food lodged in my tucked jacket. I silently closed the door. Winter perked his head up. I smile. He doesn't return it. He never does.

I walk up to his cell and unlock the door. I scan what he had on his tray now. Half a cup of water, one slice of bread, and half of a steak. I had the other half. I don't eat much. But winter does. He is a big guy, he needs to maintain that muscle. This won't cut it. I untucked my jacket and pulled a whole steak and a bottle of water out of my jacket and placed them on his tray. "Remember, don't tell anyone about this." I reminded him. He nodded. I leaned forward and pressed a quick kiss on his cheek.
