2nd part to I can't be Queen

Delilah's POV

I tried so hard to fight my tears back. I had to since there were servants in the room. Today was the wedding day, and it was already 7:45 in the morning. Father wanted to have an early wedding so I would have time to greet some of the Subjects of the other kingdom. My preparation had only just begun. My mother was also in the room, to supervise the servants to make sure I looked my best. Right now, they were trying too tighten this death trap that was around my torso. I gasped from lack of air. "How is it going, my dear?" My mother called, stepping closer.

"Difficult to say." I answer in a strained voice. I attempt to adjust it to be more comfortable. Nothing worked.

"I heard that corsets were vary popular on Midgard almost 190 years ago." My mother commented.

"I guess women on Midgard must've learned not to breathe." I retorted. Mother ignores the statement. Finally, the servants tied it up. I felt my organs squishing together

"Now, Lily, time for the dress." My mother announced. All the maid ran to a lard wardrobe against one wall of the room. The corners of my lips turned up slightly. Mother said I could design whatever dress I wanted as long as she approved. Hopefully it turned out the way I wanted.

Dark blue torso with tree branch like lines down to the skirt. The blue ombre into white to the bottom, having flowers along the rim. Just what I wanted. The servants unhook it and drag it over. "Careful! It's the only think I like about this whole thing." I mumble.

A few minutes after I got the dress on, there was a knock on the door. I was a afraid who it might be. Father should be getting everything ready, so should Thor and Loki. And my fiance can't see me. All the servants crowd around the door to block that person's view from me. Mother opens the door, revealing Loki. I take a deep breath and smile. Loki ignores everyone else and strides to me.

I open my arms and Loki wraps his arms around my waist and squeezed me tightly. I return it. While in the hug, I felt him kiss my temple. When we pulled away, he finally took a good look at me up and down. He chuckled. "My dear sister, you look beautiful as ever." He compliments.

"Thank you, brother." Was all I said. I could hear my voice breaking. I refused to make eye contact with him, just in case he could see through my mask.

"We would like a moment alone." Loki called, not turning.

"But prince-"

"A moment alone!" He repeated, looking at him this time. One by one, they all filed out of the room. Even Mother.

At that point, I knew I was safe. Safe to break down. Which is exactly what I did. I grasped onto his shoulder and sobbed into his chest. His arms found their way to rest on my back. I knew I could let it all out and Loki not judge me. "Shh, Lily. It's all right. Let it out. I'm here for you. Gods, I love you so much." He whispered while rubbing my back. When I calmed down, I wiped my eyes and let go of him.

"I don't want to go through with this. I barely know him. I don't love him! I never wanted this!" I gradually got louder with each sentence until I was yelling to Loki's left side.

"I know, love. It pains me to be helpless and just stand and watch as your future crumbles before you." Loki adds on. I sniffle and wipe my eyes once more.

"How is everything going?" I ask, desperate to change the subject. Loki sighs.

"Very well. Everything is just how Father wants it. Thor is trying his best to not participate as much as he can. I must say, the throne room is very lovely. Father did show some compassion and throw blue accents just for you." Loki answered, grazing the back of his hand against my cheek. I flash him a sad smile. "And, Donovan, is out somewhere partying with his brother and friends. He said, 'I want to spend my last few hours of freedom having fun.' So, don't be surprised if he can't up straight just to see you walk down the aisle." Loki warned. I scoff.
