< Danny's POV > Friday
Danny was sat in his now claimed seat in the music room, notepad in his lap as he chewed the end of his pencil thoughtfully. Brian and his masked friends (collectively known by their not-actually-official band name TWRP) were off to the side trying to work something out. One of Phobos's strings was broken, or something. Danny wasn't really paying attention honestly.
He was feeling inspired, and currently trying to make an actual song out of one of his stupid jingles he came up with probably a couple years ago. There were lots of funny song names stored in his head, but only a select few actually had lyrics beyond that. Even then none of them were actually full songs. It was frustrating, and so far Danny's "brainstorm" had yielded no results.
He actually let out a growl as he stared at his still blank page. Over the week he'd sampled some of TWRP's songs. They were all so creative, stemming from such small and vague concepts but yet moulded into fully fleshed out songs.
"Why are you frowning at a blank page?" asked Brian, his voice inches away from Danny's ear.
Danny flailed, his comfortable position ruined as he almost fell off his chair. TWRP laughed off to the side and Danny huffed a sigh, stuffing the notebook back into his pocket angrily.
"Dude, stop sneaking up on me like that," he moaned, glaring up at Brian and his stupid smug face.
"What's got you so grumpy today?" Brian asked, completely ignoring Danny's jab at him.
"Tryna think of song lyrics. And failing," Danny replied sourly.
"They're not going to come to you like that, bud," said Meouch matter of factly across the room.
Danny flashed the lion a glare and he held up his hands in defence.
"He's right. As cheesy as it sounds, music comes from the heart," agreed Sung with a grin.
Phobos and Havve nodded. Danny had heard them speak at some points, but they seemed a lot shyer than Sung and Meouch. He didn't judge; he wasn't exactly the most confident person.
"You know, Dani," Brian started, "if you wanted you could sing for some of our songs."
"Our songs, did you say?" jeered Meouch.
"Okay fine, your songs. But still, I'm just saying that if you wanted to, the offer still stands."
Danny folded his arms, looking down at the floor. All week Brian had been trying to convince him to sing with them, and each time he refused. He stood up, picking up his bag from the floor and swinging it over his shoulder.
"Sorry, still a no," he said bluntly, "See you guys next week I guess."
"We sometimes meet up over the weekends. I'll text you if we do and you can come if you want," called Brian as Danny walked towards the door.
Danny smiled, shaking his head. Right, he had Brian's number. He couldn't even escape him over the weekend.
"See ya, sweet cheeks!" called Meouch as Danny opened the door.
The last thing Danny heard before he closed it behind him was an angry whisper from Brian, which only made him smile more.
"Hey, I told you she doesn't like it when you make comments like that!"
He may still use female pronouns, but Brian was a true friend. He didn't know the whole truth, of course. Though every day Danny found himself considering it more and more.

Brian: I'll send you the address
Brian: ...
Brian: Dani seriously are you even alive?
Danny squinted open his eyes to the dinging sounds of his phone as Brian bombarded him with messages that next morning. Well, 11am was technically still morning.
Rolling onto his back and rubbing his face tiredly Danny reached to see his notifications. He let out a long sigh when he saw what they were.
"For fuck's sake Brian..."
Danny: its pretty much impossible to ignore you when your so persistent and I just woke up
Brian: *you're
Danny: I hate you. Send me the address
Brian: :0 your coming??
