< Danny's POV >
Danny came to in a comfortable heat bubble, a nice contrast to the freezing wet of last night. He stretched slightly before settling down again, not quite fully awake yet or ready to open his eyes.
A movement close by nudged him into wakefulness and he finally blinked open his eyes. It was disorienting but also kind of nice to not wake up in his own bed. That thought made Danny wonder what time it actually was. Upon attempting to move to check, however, Danny finally became aware of the person tucked under him, curled in a ball by his chest.
Feeling a hot blush of embarrassment creep up his neck, Danny glanced down at Arin. He was sound asleep, and Danny didn't know if he had the heart to move and disturb him. It also didn't help that Arin was laying on one of his arms, using it as a pillow essentially. Luckily the circulation wasn't being cut off.
Taking a deep breath to try and relax again Danny wondered how they'd got like this. It had been a cold night, so perhaps they'd subconsciously huddled for extra warmth? In any case Danny wasn't exactly uncomfortable in his position. It was the idea of being so close to Arin that for some reason made him feel all funny.
After what felt like an eternity Arin started to stir. Danny looked down at him as he gradually woke up, oddly excited to see his no doubt flustered reaction when he realised where he was. Arin blinked the sleep away and seemed to look around him in confusion. Eventually his tired gaze floated upwards to land on Danny's face, and his face went a deep red instantly, as expected.
"Morning Arin," Danny said with an amused grin.
Arin propelled himself away from Danny across the bed. He seemed to underestimate how close he was to the edge and tumbled straight off the bed, dragging a pillow and half the duvet with him.
And Danny, who lunged across the bed to try and catch him before he fell, but only resulted in falling headfirst after him. There was a loud bang as they both landed in a heap on the floor. Instantly Danny broke out into hysterical laughter, his arms wrapped around Arin's waist from his attempt to catch him.
The two tried in vain to escape the confines of fabric and only got progressively more tangled. Eventually they both succumbed to their unfortunate fate, laying on the floor together for all eternity.
"We are one now, Arin," Danny giggled, his voice muffled by the duvet.
"H-How did this even h-happen?!" Arin cried.
Danny could tell from Arin's stutter he was still shaken up by their "sleeping arrangements" and felt him start to squirm trying to get free again. Eventually Arin gave a happy sound and wriggled out from the prison of comfy. Danny, however, was still very much trapped.
"Um... help?"
He breathed a sigh of relief as Arin moved the part of the duvet that had been suffocating him away from his face, giving him back vision and the ability to breathe. Arin's blushing face was more pink now, but he wouldn't make eye contact with Danny as he freed him. Danny felt guilty, though he knew they were both asleep when it happened so there was nothing he could have done.
Still, as he stood up and helped Arin pile the covers back onto his bed he found himself apologising.
"N-No, it's okay. I-It's not your f-fault, you couldn't help it..." Arin stammered.
"Well, I apologize on behalf of my unconscious self," Danny chuckled.
He knew that his jokes often managed to cheer Arin up and was glad to see him smile a little.
"I-I forgive you... unconscious Danny," he replied, giggling slightly as he ran with the joke.
Danny laughed too as they finished re-making Arin's bed somewhat. When they were done Danny started to search for his phone, earning a confused glance from Arin as he rummaged around.
"Just wanna know what time it is," he clarified, and Arin nodded.
He "ah"ed when he found it, sat on the windowsill near where their clothes were. Opening it he was pleasantly surprised that it was only 9, and not midday when he usually woke up on the weekends.
"Do you want to go down for some breakfast? I think I can smell mum making something," Arin said from behind him.
Danny opened his mouth to accept, but his eyes suddenly fell on his chest. He bit his lip, not ready to be around anyone else like this yet. He went over to where his clothes were hung and felt them. His jeans and shirt were still a little damp, but luckily his bra had dried completely. A relieved smile split his face as he picked it up and turned back to Arin.
"Just gonna put this back on first. I don't... well, you know," he explained, walking towards the door.
"Oh, yeah, I'll wait here."
Danny closed the door behind him and headed into the bathroom. After putting on his bra he breathed a sigh as his nerves left him and he slipped back on Arin's shirt since his still wasn't dry. When he came back to the bedroom Arin had changed out of his pyjamas, surprisingly wearing just a pink-orange shirt and no sweater, and a pair of comfortable looking joggers. Danny guessed that he wasn't intending on going out anywhere today.
"Better?" Arin said with a smile, and Danny knew what he was talking about.
"Yeah, much better, thanks," he replied. "Now, what was this about breakfast?"
