Arin stepped out of the bathroom in her pyjamas, the last one to change. It was dark outside by now, and the living room had well and truly been transformed, covered in blankets and pillows for when they decided to turn in for the night.
Despite that everyone was still very much awake. Brian and Rachel were sat close to each other, leaned against the front of the sofa. Danny was lounged with a blanket around him talking to Brian casually while Suzy seemed to be looking through her movies. Arin went to sit down next to Danny, who opened up his blanket cocoon for her, and she shuffled inside with a bashful smile.
"What movie are we watching?" asked Rachel as she looked over at Suzy.
"Hm, well it wouldn't be a sleepover without some horror, would it?" the goth replied, holding up the first Alien movie.
"Aw nooo, Suzy please," whined Danny, pulling Arin and the blanket closer.
"Have you ever seen Alien, Danny?" wondered Brian.
"YES BUT I BAILED AFTER THE FIRST TWENTY MINUTES!"
Everyone laughed as Danny covered the bottom half of his face with the blanket, whining like a scared dog as Suzy completely ignored his pleas and put the movie in. He yelped when Suzy switched the light off before sitting down next Rachel with the TV remote. Arin rubbed his back underneath the blanket and shuffled a little closer, flashing a comforting smile as the movie began.
"Guys, can you warn me before the alien jumps out?" Danny muttered after a while.
"Where's the fun in that? Horror is about the suspense," pointed out Brian.
"Yeah, the jumpscares are the best part of horror films!" added Rachel.
"Please guys, I'm gonna pee myself if I get jumpscared I swear..."
"Too much information, dude," chuckled Brian.
With a sideways glance Arin saw Danny curling his legs up to make himself into a ball. She leaned in to whisper in his ear.
"Don't worry, I'll warn you."
Danny smiled, kissing her cheek and whispering thanks before he was made jump by Jonesy the cat. Everyone laughed at his reaction while he blushed in the darkness.
"You still dry over there, Danny?" joked Brian.
"Shut up Brian."

Danny screamed, a little louder than everyone else when the alien suddenly appeared. Arin had tried to warn him but was a beat too late. The next thing Arin knew she was wrapped up in a tight squeeze by her boyfriend's lanky limbs. She giggled as he held onto her for dear life.
"I don't like this anymore Ar," he whimpered.
"It's okay, it's almost over," Arin comforted.
He whined fearfully but thankfully let go of Arin, though she could feel he was a lot closer to her side now.
Danny let out an audible sigh of relief when the credits started rolling.
"Well, that was officially the scariest moment of my life," he said completely truthfully.
"Aw you should see the second one," laughed Suzy.
"Can we-" started Rachel, but Danny was faster.
"NO I WOULD LIKE TO BE ABLE TO SLEEP TONIGHT THANK YOU!"
"Speaking of which, what time is it?" asked Brian, letting a yawn slip as he looked around for his phone.
"Uhhhh, oh it's only 1am," replied Suzy when she checked hers.
