A/N: it's not Christmas but I'm currently going on a big nostalgia trip with this song ^^^^
The next morning Danny once again woke up to texts.
And a pounding headache, which added with his increase in sweat made for a lot of discomfort. He still wasn't sure why that was happening, maybe he could look it up later.
His limbs aching too Danny reached for his phone. This time it was just Arin, not the dreaded group chat.
Arin: you might not be up yet but I wanted to know if you wanted to hang out today. Just the two of us? Feel free to refuse, I won't be offended or anything, so don't feel like you have to hang out with me. Sorry I'm rambling
Danny smiled tiredly.
"Oh Arin," he croaked out, his throat scratchy.
He was about to reply when his nose started to tingle. His entire body froze as the sneeze worked its way up his nose and he felt his eyes watering slightly from it. The sneeze was violent, hurting his already sore throat. He cringed as he felt the mucus in his nose and put his phone to one side, pulling back his covers to get up. His body continued to ache and he felt terrible as he stood up.
He left his room and headed into the bathroom to get some tissue to blow his nose. Upon turning on the light his head pounded more and he sighed as he picked up some tissue. After blowing his nose he flushed the tissue and glanced up at the mirror. A pale and ghostly face stared back at him. He was slightly shiny with sweat and now that he thought about it, unbelievably thirsty.
"For fucks sake..." he muttered bitterly to himself, trudging back to his room and flopping onto his bed.
Arin wanted to hang out, and his body decided to make him sick. Picking up his phone again Danny felt a pang of sadness to have to refuse Arin. But he felt like death warmed up, so even he knew that going out would be a bad idea.
Danny: I'd love to, but I think I'm dying
Arin: wait what? Are you okay?
Danny: yeah, just woke up with the worst headache and sneezed half my brains out. Sorry, but I don't think I can go out
Arin: I could come over
Danny: You wouldn't want to catch this, Ar.
Arin: I don't mind.
Arin: remember when I was sick, and you stayed with me after school and made me soup? I want to return the favour :)
Danny: I'm too tired to argue with you.
Arin: yay! I'll get my mum to drop me off in a sec. Is there anything you want me to bring you?
Danny: nah I'm fine
Arin: are your parents in?
Danny: they both have work today, so no
Danny: what time will you be here?
Arin: like five minutes? Your house isn't far away
Danny: oh you're leaving now? Shit, well I guess I should unlock the door. You can just let yourself in
Arin: okay, see you in a bit <3
Danny: <3
With another sigh Danny hefted himself off of his bed again. He winced at the late morning light streaming into the house as he made his way downstairs, unlocked the front door and went back up. He closed his curtains to lessen his headache and practically fell into his bed, letting his aching body relax again.
