A/N: I have taken your advice, and have decided to write the end as multiple parts! Even though they are basically going to be more chapters, I'm keeping them under "epilogue" to separate them from the rest of the story. This has been a blast to write and I still can't fathom all the comments I get, but I'm glad it's going to be over and we can move onto bigger and better things! (Like my original story that I am slowly releasing on here ;)) Enjoy part one of the epilogue!
< Arin's POV >
It was the start of a new summer.
Arin was quite glad for warmer weather; it gave her a chance to finally break free of her hoodies and jumpers, and slip back into those bright summer dresses that had migrated to the back of her wardrobe. Well, maybe not just yet. The spring-summer transition called for leggings and t-shirts, maybe an umbrella for those last few showers. In any case, Arin was looking forward to showing off all the clothes her new classmates were yet to see.
She was about halfway through her first year. Arin had settled in pretty well all things considered, but she mostly had her friends to thank for that. If it wasn't for them, she was sure she'd have faired a lot worse. She'd made a handful of new friends in her class, but none could compare to the original bunch. They were just classroom friends; they only really talked at college, and went their separate ways as soon as they left the classroom. Friendship without all the drama, as far as Arin was concerned.
Arin walked past a few of them on her way into campus that morning. She only had one class today. Two hours, but still, it was better than nothing. In her head she lined up her friends' timetables with hers' for the day, and smiled when she realised that a few of them would have a free afternoon to hang out. They usually went to the park when they had free afternoons, or, if they were feeling responsible, group study. Since it was a Friday, Arin presumed they'd all be wanting some relaxation.
"Good morning!" called someone, and Arin smiled as she recognised the voice.
Kevin was waiting at their usual rendezvous point, in the shade of the main Arts and Media building. Both of them only had their classes in here, so it was the most logical place to meet up before class. Kevin was always there first; he was a natural early bird.
"Morning! How are you?" Arin greeted politely as she came to stand with him.
"About as well as can be expected," Kevin groaned.
"Oh, right. It's your full day."
"Yeah... On a Friday too!"
"Every Friday is full for you. It's been like that since September."
"Does that mean I have to like it?"
"No, I guess not," Arin giggled. "Where's Ross?"
"He should be here by now..." Kevin frowned at his watch, "I guess he's running late, as always."
Arin laughed again, before turning to watch as a couple of students walked past. She smiled politely and waved, and simply shrugged to herself when she didn't receive either in return. A surprisingly strong breeze brushed through the chestnut brown hair that now reached her chest, and within a few minutes she was taking out a bobble to tie it back from her face.
A few more minutes, and a familiar thin figure came trotting down the path towards them. Ross' face noticeably lit up when he saw Arin. She couldn't help but smile at that; she knew he had a little crush on her, and had for a while (Suzy told her). He never made any moves, with her being in a relationship and all, but it was still sweet to think about.
"Why so late?" Kevin called with a smile of his own.
"Shut up, it's only a few minutes." Ross rolled his eyes, "And Ashley isn't even here yet!"
