Head canon: the Kira case ends but everyone is out at risk doing so. Meaning you and L have to runaway and hide for a few years. Go off the grid.

You didn't want to leave him. You couldn't. But he had to go, he wasn't safe anymore, now that people have seen L's face, and two of the biggest criminals saw his face, it wasn't safe for him. But you were t going to leave him.

You weren't leaving unless it was with L.

He had to go off the grid, he couldn't be traced, to protect himself and wammys house. You didn't care how risky it was, or how bad the consequences could be, you had to go with L.

He stood in his room, packing everything up, unplugging computers, shredding files, throwing clothes into suitcases.

"L..." you said, standing in the doorway.

"Yes what is it?" He asked, continuing to pack.

"I..."

Just the thought I'd having to leave him made your heart break.

"I..." your voice broke, tears started to fall down your cheeks.

Upon hearing your sobbing, L turns to face you through the darkness.

"I don't want you to go..." you sobbed.

He didn't know what to do, he wasn't aware you were that attached to him or why you were.

"Please don't leave me..."

"(Y/n)... you know how dangerous things are right now. I have to leave..." he replied.

"If you have to leave then take me with you, I don't care about the circumstances, I can't just let you leave" you said.

It fell silent as L let your words sink in.

"What about your family? You know how much of a risk it is to even be in the same room with me" he said.

"I don't care... I can't leave you" You said, wiping the tears from your eyes.

"Why don't you want me to leave?"

You drew a shaky breath and walked over to him.

"Because... because I've never felt so attached to someone in my whole life. You may not know it but you're so special to me, you've helped me through so much, you've kept me alive and protected me when the world wouldn't, you're the most amazing person I've ever met. I know how much of a handful you can be, and I know you're always so distant but I don't care... I can't leave you, if you left I'd be crying for the rest of my life, I wouldn't be able to live knowing anything could be happening to you. Damnit I love you L"

He just starred down at you, with mixed emotions.

You suddenly wrapped your arms around him and held onto him like there was no tomorrow, burying your face into his shirt, your tears soaking through.

He felt... honoured, all warm and fuzzy inside. He always seemed to whenever you were around. And now it all made sense, hearing your true feelings made him realise that he'd felt the same way this whole time and just didn't know it. He sighed, if leaving made you this upset, how could he possibly leave without you.

"Are you sure?" He asked.

"I couldn't go in without you" you replied.

You felt his arms wrap around you in return, hearing a gentle voice by your ear.

"Then pack your stuff, you're coming with me"

Your heart jumped, you felt so much happiness and relief at his words.
