Spooked

A/n: man I'm really loving the L and Kai head canon. Probably the best I've come up with lol. Expect more of that in the future lol.

Hc: despite being a detective and having seen some fucked up stuff in his life. He's a total wimp when it comes to anything horror related.

Misa actually dragged you out some place fun this time.

A theme park!

You'd already been on a bunch of rides and played a bunch of games. Since it was close to Halloween everything was horror themed, you could dress up, there were decorations everywhere and there even had a haunted house.

And that's the line you were in.

Misa wanted you, Light, L and herself to all go into the haunted house but what she failed to notice was it was two at a time. So she and Light just went in and you and L were left waiting outside.

"(Y/n) are you sure about this?" He asked.

"It'll be fine, how bad can it be?"

Just as those words left your mouth you heard Light and Misa scream from inside. Wow, great timing.

"Why, are you scared?" You teased.

"N-no"

"See? It's a theme park haunted house it can't be that bad"

You had to wait a little while longer and the employee eventually let you in. The second you stepped in it was super dark, you could hear all the spooky sound effects start up as the door closed behind you. You suddenly felt L grab your hand and hold it tightly.

You shined your torch they'd given you at him in confusion.

"It's dark I don't wanna end up lost" he said.

Fair enough. It was pretty dark and these torches were purposely dim for the effect.

"Let's go" you said, beginning to pull L through the maze that was the house.

The spooky atmosphere was definitely off putting. You found yourself scanning like crazy around every corner you turned. Suddenly a loud clang made jump.

"OH FUCK- oh I just kicked a bucket ok..." you said.

You definitely saw L jump at the loud noise but he managed to keep in his fear.

You pulled him down a long hall and as you did there was a low growling sound over the speakers that made you jump a little. You crept deeper into the house, as you turned a corner you were suddenly jump scared by an actor dressed as a crazy prisoner behind bars. Making both you and L scream at the jarring fright.

"GEEZ! We're literally detectives we shouldn't be scared by some prisoner!" You laughed as you continued to pull L down the halls.

You were too busy to notice how scared he was getting. He was shaking, scanning like crazy and his grip on your hand tightened. It didn't help that he felt something brush against his ankle either.

"EW EW EW WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT!" He exclaimed, quickly stepping away from where he was standing before.

"What?" You laughed.

"Something touched my ankle"

"It's probably just a draft from outside"

You pulled him down the long hall and you were met by another corner, this time you were more careful going around it. You shone your torch down the hall and checked for any jump scares.

"Ok we're good" you sighed in relief.

The second those words left your mouth another scare actor started to bash on the glass wall.

"AHHHH SON OF A BITCH!" L screamed, jumping back and clinging to you as a result.

"Come on, the quicker the less scared we get!" You laughed, pulling him down the hallway.

As you were dragging him down the hall he ended up running into a fake spiderweb, you'd missed it because you were shorter than him but he ran right into it.

"AH! Oh fucking... spider webs. Not today Satan" he exclaimed, untangling himself from it.

You laughed at his reaction and shone your torch at him.

"That's what you get for being so tall!"

"Why didn't you tell me?"

"I missed it!"

"Whatever, just get me the fuck out of here"

He never really swore that much, maybe it was because his fight or flight was kicked in and he was scared. You continued through the maze, hitting dead ends and having to turn back a few times. You got jump scared plenty of times but each time you were able to laugh it off. Not L, he was ready to die.

You'd never seen him so scared before. He definitely knew it was all fake but he probably just want the type to handle fear well.

You came to one last long hallway and you saw the door at the end of the hall, but it was lined with glass and you knew you'd be jump scared like absolute hell. You shone your torch at L who was clinging to your arm and shaking in fear.

"We gotta make a run for it" you said.

"Down there? No way"

"Do you wanna be stuck in here forever?"

"...no"

"Then we gotta run"

You grabbed his hand and pulled him off your arm so you could run. You gave his hand a reassuring squeeze and shone your light back down the hall.

"3... 2...1!"

You both sprinted down the hall, scare actors bashing at the glass and making all kind of freaky noises. Even though you were almost out the initial fright still make the two of you scream. You finally reached the door and slammed it open, rushing out into the park and slamming the door behind you.

You both took a second to catch your breath and compose yourself.

"That was fun" You laughed.

"FUN?! ARE YOU INSANE? Never again..." L exclaimed.

"So... I'm guessing it was scary?"

You looked up to see light and misa standing by the fence and waiting for you.

They probably heard everything you were screaming about in there.

"Yeah but it was kinda fun" you laughed.

"How- I almost freaking died (y/n)!" L replied.

"Stop being dramatic! It wasn't fine!"

You put your torches back in the basket by the door and walked up to Light and Misa to figure out what to do next.

"I gotta say... I didn't think L could reach a volume above normal talking" Light sassed.

"Shut up Yagami"
