110 part 2

A/n: three random notes. 1) I'm obsessed w/ this song atm rip ^2) I'm taking my angel L cosplay to a con next week. Wings and everything! 3) sometimes people forget that when they have conversations in my comments I can see it and honestly it's actually pretty funny.

You didn't even know what to make of what you were looking at.

There was a spray painted L logo on the wall with bloodied knives stuck in it, more murder weapons from the looks of it. Newspaper articles about L were torn up and burnt all over the floor. And the most prominent, a faceless doll, stabbed through the heart.

This cult wanted L dead.

The hostages must have been a sacrifice attempt... it's obvious this cult thinks Kira is a god, and that praising him will grant them some kind of power. When you signed up to be a 110 operator, this is not what you thought of. L looked like he had seen a ghost, you'd never seen him look so terrified. He had no idea someone wanted him dead so badly they've resorted to cult rituals.

"Holy fuck..." you mumbled.

"How did they even get the knives in the wall?" The officer behind you added.

After another moment of starring, there was a bang at the door, making you all jump and turn to look. The forensics team had arrived and it was time to get out and let them do their thing. If you were quick, you could probably catch the hostages before they got taken to the hospital and ask some questions.

"Ryu, come on" you said, grabbing him by the arm and pulling him back upstairs.

You pulled him outside and found one ambulance hadn't left yet as they were exchanging information with the police. You walked over to a paramedic and exclaimed who you were and why you were here, he let you past to talk to one of the victims.

She was about 18, sitting in an ambulance bed with a tube in her arm and bandage around her shoulder from a stab wound. Her wounds weren't as deep as the other two so she wasn't in as much of a rush.

"Miss Minami" you said, remembering the names the paramedic gave you.

She looked up as you climbed into the back of the ambulance.

"I'm officer (l/n), I took the 110 call you made and had to come down as I'm working on the Kira investigation. You'll be giving a full statement to a different officer but we do need to know this now. Did you see was was behind that curtain while you were in the basement?" You asked.

"N-no only the main room. We hid in the roof of that room since a tile was loose enough to get behind. I saw nothing behind that curtain" she explained.

"Ok... that's odd..."

If they hadn't even seen the L hate shrine, then where did the blood behind there come from?

"You think their could be previous victims?" You asked L.

"It's possible... I've never worked on a cult case so I wouldn't know. I don't get information about cults" he replied, still looking a little shaken from that whole scene.

"If it helps, they were reading from some kind of book. The officers that arrested the man took it with them" the victim added.

"What was in it?"

"It sounded like Kira-religion trash... I'm all for people having religions and stuff but this was just... wrong. He was chanting about ridding the world of filth a lot"

"Miss Minami? Why were you targeted?" L asked.

She took a moment to collect her thoughts.

"I don't know really... I think we were just in the wrong place at the wrong time. He came up to us like he wasn't part of the riot and all of a sudden he grabbed us with two other guys and pulled us into the basement. I think it was because we weren't rioting and he attributed that to us not worshiping Kira... who would though? Nut jobs that's who"

That's right, the two people that ran off were arrested at the riot.

It was a really odd situation. Was Kira connected to the cult or was it just some of his crazy followers doing their own thing?

It seems the riot was finally starting to die down outside, there were units everywhere, tons of ambulances and police cars. Lots of people being arrested and taken to hospital. The kidnapping and riot and cult were definitely all connected.

You thanked the girl and got out of the ambulance, heading back to your car and driving back to taskforce.

"This is all so weird..." L said.

"I know, Kira has really started to drive the world into insanity..." you replied.

He was silent for a moment, before speaking up in fear.

"What if they are connected to Kira... I'll die for sure..."

"I'm not letting that happen. You won't die if I'm around L" you replied.

"What if they find me though. If light is Kira and he's behind all this, I'm guaranteed a heart attack..."

"L you listen to me. No one will lay a finger on you, as long as I'm on this team anyone that dares to try and hurt you will be thrown off the Tokyo skytree. I will protect you till my last breath, I promise that. I love you, ok? I'm not letting you die. This cult will have to go through me first if they want you dead that badly"

He smiled a little, finding your words comforting. You pulled up into the taskforce parking lot and got out. You walked around to L's side and grabbed his hands in yours.

"You'll be safe with me ok? If any cultists want you I'll kick them so hard up the ass they'll be able to taste my shoes in their mouth for weeks" you smiled.

He laughed at your statement and smiled up at you.

"Thank you, (y/n)" he said.

"It's my job to protect you. I love you ok?"

"I-I love you too..."

You began to walk back into the building, hand in hand when he spoke up yet again.

"If you love me so much... can I sleep in your bed tonight so I don't get nightmares about that hate shrine..?" He said shyly.

You giggled and wrapped an arm around him.

"Of course, you don't even have to ask..."

You placed a kiss on his cheek and went inside, taking all your gear off and putting it back in it's spot. You both went back into the main room and told the taskforce to keep an eye on the data base as everything that happened will be up soon.

You sat down, putting your headset back ok, L grabbed the second pair of headphones to listen in. You un-blocked your line and almost immediately you got a call.

"110, what's your emergency?" You asked.

"Help! My wife went to labour early!"

You shook your head... well, here you go again...
