A/n: can't be bothered to write out the trope lol.

You sat in your room, wiping off today's makeup. Slightly annoyed because someone in taskforce was blasting the same song really loudly, it had been going on for ages now and you're were seriously getting annoyed.

You tossed the makeup wipes into the bin and pulled out your PJs, quickly changing before you had reached your boiling point. Whoever was playing that music needs to turn it the fuck down.

You angrily opened your door and marches down the hall, trying to find the source of the music. It took you up a couple flights of stairs, and surprisingly you ended up outside L's room. You didn't really expect this kind of behaviour from L.

You knocked on the door, but got no response.

What the fuck was he doing in there. You were seriously fed up. You opened his door and you were about to yell at him to turn the music down but you were stopped in your tracks when you saw him lying face down on the sofa, violet sobbing into a pillow.

This was new...

L had never really opened up to anyone, so this was definitely a bit of a shock to see. Now you knew why he was playing the music so loud. Your anger turned to worry and you closed the door behind you.

You went over to the radio and switched it off, proceeding to walk over to L.

"Hey... what's wrong?" You asked.

"I-it doesn't matter... go away" he replied, his voice muffled by the pillows.

"Yes it does... you're never this upset, what's wrong?"

He didn't reply, hoping you'd just leave. But he wasn't going to get what he wanted this to around. You sighed, knowing how stubborn he was; there was no way he'd give in. So, you had to take matters into your own hands.

You wrapped your arms around him and picked him up, being too tired and weak to protest, he just hid his face in your shirt and gave in to whatever you were going to do. You tightened your grip on him so you wouldn't drop him and carried him downstairs to your room where you already had the heater going. You put him on your bed and he just buried his face into your pillows.

You closed the door, turned the heater up and switched on a lamp. You sat next to him and gently rubbed his arm, trying to make him feel safer.

"If you won't tell me that's ok. But at least stay here for a while so you can calm down" you said.

He just stayed silent, he obviously didn't want to talk. You knew he'd stay. When someone's sad they often shut people out while deep down craving for reassurance. You let him stay buried in your pillows for hours, not saying a word. It got late, and you began to get tired, so you decided to try and get some sleep and leave L be. He obviously needs time to process his emotions.

You pulled the blankets over the both of you and turned the lamp off.

"You can stay here ok? Just make sure you get some sleep, Goodnight" you said, snuggling up under the blankets.

Not even two seconds after you closed your eyes to try and fall asleep, you felt him wrap his arms around you and rest his head on your chest, trying to take your body heat.

You smiled and wrapped your arms around him, he needed the support. Maybe he'd talk in the morning.

There was a lot going on in his mind. But right now the only thing he was focused on was letting you sleep, and trying to fall sleep himself. He'd tell you everything in the morning.

He was grateful that you actually cared about him.

You'd know about everything tomorrow, but right now, he just wanted to fall asleep listening to your heartbeat.
