Analysing L... again

I am fully aware I analyse L wayyyy too much but FUCK. I just wanna get to the bottom of how he works you know? So I've done chapters about his moral codes and personality, mental health and sexuality.

For an update here's my conclusions so far.

•He has a grey moral code, right and wrong are blurred sometimes.
•he has emotions but is very detached from them, hides behind several masks and doesn't know how to express himself. Possibly due to a mental illness.
•I personally believe he may have some type of PTSD the trauma being the process of being abandoned/orphaned at a young age. Causing paranoia and obsessive compulsive behaviours.
•since I don't believe Lawlight was ever a thing and he admitted he could fall for misa, I'd say he's straight maybe ace? I feel like he just doesn't really give a fuck and if love happens, it happens. But I've seen zero evidence backing him ever being into guys, it's even stated in canon he hated Light all along. Of course in an AU context he could be anything but in canon I don't think the writers even thought about it. The only thing they said about L and relationships was that they ditched the idea of mello and near being his kids because they couldn't imagine him having sex (read some fanfic, you'll be able to imagine it eventually 😂)

So in this chapter I'll be looking into his quirks. Analysing them. Of course sometimes people just do things for no reason but with as many quirks as he has I lean more toward their being a reason.

I'll also take a stab at his physical health later in the chapter.

Ok here's all his quirks:
-putting his fingers to his lips
-sitting crouched
-stacking food
-his feet have to be moving in some way
-wearing the same outfit
-putting percentages on things

Some of these would be considered obsessive compulsive behaviours. (Stacking, seating position, having the same outfit). OCD can go hand in hand with other mental illnesses and effects include, repeated behaviour (stacking), irrational fear of something being out of place (wearing the same outfit, sitting crouched), fear of germs and having to be clean etc.

BUT, these actions could also be attributed to anxiety ticks (having to be moving, fingers to lips) and with his job I wouldn't be surprised if he suffered some type of anxiety or a side effect of PTSD.

Also taking a look at his seating position. He may have chalked it up to deductive abilities but sitting with your knees up and arms in front of you can also mean you're subconsciously protecting your vital organs. When in a crash what do they tell you to do? Protect your neck and vitals, they make your curl up. So, maybe, that could be attributed to subconsciously feeling anxious and trying to keep himself safe, self comfort and such. Of course he still does this all the time, even when he's not anxious, but if he did it enough it could have turned into a habit.

He has kind of an unwritten routine when you think about it, same clothes, same kind of food, same case cycle (take a case, solve it repeat). Routines can be super hard to break and in the case of OCD, PTSD and anxiety, the sufferer can be scared to break it because they feel like something bad will happen, even if nothing will, it's just a side effect of the illness.

Although the percentage thing I can't really label, maybe he's just good at numbers. Or they help him paint a better picture of a case.

Holy crap man, I'd actually love to be L's psychiatrist, he's so damn interesting.

Ok, into physical health. For one he's super pale, in some scenes he's literally almost completely white. To be fair on some scenes he's much more fair, but lighting and such. 90% of the time he's pale af. Also the eyebags which we know is insomnia. But what gets me is the fact he's in canon underweight... how is that possible when he eats so much junk food?

Well... maybe he's anemic?

There are different types of anemia that cause different symptoms but the broad stokes are that you don't produce enough red blood cells and have a lower than usual blood pressure. OR not enough iron. It's usually not enough iron.

Symptoms include:
Pale skin
Dizziness
Dark eyebags
Fatigue
Tiredness
Being cold all the time, especially in the hands and feet
Headaches

Now for L specifically I'd suspect it's low iron anemia.

He's pale, underweight, has insomnia so he's often tired. Maybe he likes the long clothes because he's always cold? He did wear them in summer too after all. This kind of anemia isn't life threatening, it's mainly just annoying and can weaken your immune system but you can't die from this kind. Although it does make you more prone to fainting.

If he does have it, then it's obviously not awful, since he can pack a strong kick and play tennis completely fine. It's more of a lack of iron thing for him.

His diet of mainly candy and fruits? Little to no iron. Or vitamins for that matter, maybe it's a vitamin deficiency?

OR.

Low blood sugar.

When you're sick and have low blood sugar what do doctors do? Give you sugary foods until it gets better. Maybe THATS why he eats so much sugar, if he naturally has really low blood sugar he'd need to keep it up somehow right?

Here's another theory

hypothyroidism. Meaning an under active thyroid. (Heyyyy that's what everyone thinks I have lol)

You don't produce enough hormones basically.

Symptoms include:
depression, feeling withdrawn and a lack of motivation
inability to concentrate
body fatigue, muscle aches and low energy levels
needing more sleep
intolerance to cold temperatures
unexplained weight gain/loss
dry skin and /or pale skin.
More prone to skin conditions (dark bags, acne ect)

Some of that sounds like L huh?

Pale, depressed, underweight, cold, lack of sleep, dark bags.

To be fair, this is much more common in girls than boys but boys can have it. It's just less common.

I'm no doctor so I'm not saying any of this is definitely L, I'm just making observations because I like to have answers I guess.
