Ways to cheat the Death Note

Thought I'd make this for anyone wanting ways to save people from the death note in their fics.

I present to you, ways to cheat death in death note.

1) change the death date.
write the persons name and make their date of death 100 years from the current day. They'll continue to live and only die when those 100 yeas are up, and since their name is already in the book, no other methods of death will affect them since they're already technically dying.

2) misspelling.
rip a page from the Death Note and go out into public. Ask strangers to try and spell the persons name but make sure you purposely mis-pronounce the persons name so they spell it wrong. If a name is accidentally misspelled four times, that person is immune to the Death Note. BUT if it is purposely spelt wrong for times, the person writing will die. That's why you get four strangers to misspell the name, it'll spare you since you didn't write the name and the person writing will be spared since they aren't intentionally misspelling it and of close it will save the person you're trying to save.

3) the death eraser
The death eraser is an actual thing in the story, it allows you to erase the persons name and as long as terry haven't been cremated, they'll come back to lie. You'll probably have to make a deal with a Shinigami to get it though. White out or normal erasers won't work, it MUST be the death eraser.

4) manipulation
If you can get a Shinigami to fall for you, or you befriend the person the Shinigami is in love with, you can emotionally manipulate them into saving the person you want.

5) blocking the Shinigami Eyes.
The rules state that you need the persons face in order to kill, because you may accidentally kill the wrong person of you don't see the persons face as you write. If you keep your face covered by something like a mask, even if they have your name, it's useless, they need your face too. When it comes to the Shinigami Eyes, they can't see your name if most of your face is covered. The general rule is, if the persons eyes are covered you can't see their name, sunglasses don't count since you can see through them. So you'd have to wear a blindfold made of a fabric you could see through but others can't, or a full face mask. If you just wore a mouth mask and sunglasses, you'd still be able to see the name since you can see their eyes.

Example:

Lets say you're Misa's best friend. Rem wants Misa to be happy and stay alive, so if you openly express that if Rem kills L, you'll be so upset you'll become depressed, that will make Misa as your best friends very sad. Rem wants Misa to be happy, so she'll spare L to make sure Misa stays happy because you're happy.

Or

Lets say your Shinigami is in love with you, if you ask them to kill the person who is going to kill the one you want to save, and they don't want to see you upset, they can kill the killer, and spare the one you want alive, although the Shinigami will die themselves.

Ok so now I'll name some AUs that can cheat the Death Note.

1) the Life Note AU
The popular AU in which angels carry life notes, and if a human is unfairly killed, the persons name can be written into a life note and they will come back to life. Everything works pretty much the same way as the Death Note, but its for bringing people to live instead of killing.

The four main rules are:

-the deceased humans whose name is written in this note will come back to life.

-the note is unable to work if the person has been cremated

-the person with the Life Note will be accompanied by an angel that only the owner can see and hear, until ownership is given up or the human dies.

-anyone who touched the note or pages of the note will be able to see and hear the angel.

It's basically the Death Note but for Life. It's the opposite.

2)the weakened Death Note AU
The AU in which people who have been killed by the Death Note can be saved of fast enough.

Example.

Rem killed L, BUT, you managed to defibrillate seconds after his heart stopped and being him back. Now that his name as been written into the book, the book believes he's dead and can't be killed using the Death Note, but can be killed in other ways.

It basically means that if your quick enough you can save the victim. This isn't a thing in the show, once a human is dead from the note they can't be bought back. That's why his is an AU. So if Light made L drown, if you pulled him out and gave him CPR fast enough, you could save him.

3)the surgery AU
The AU in which a person can have a facial reconstruction surgery or something that will change the appearance of their face, and you need the persons ORIGINAL face to kill them. It could be the smallest thing, like a nose job. You need the person original face in order to kill them, if your have their name, that doesn't matter because you have to know their original face. This doesn't apply in the real story so that makes it an AU.

That's all I can think of as of now, I may add to this if I find more ways around death by the Death Note or come across another AU. Or if you know of a way or an AU, comment it to add to the list.
