Here's some of my fav AUs. If anyone wants oneshots for these then comment.

Merfolk AU
My absolute favourite AU ever for anything, I just frickin love designing all the characters tails and making a whole new world full of magic.
abshejwusba I have an idea for a short Merfolk AU story but the DN fandom isn't that big on the Merfolk AU so it'll probably flop ahhhhhh. Plus I have to finish crybaby so I guess that's another thing stopping me lol.

Supernatural/Monster AU
Another one of my favourites, I love picking out what character would be what supernatural creature and making all these magic rules and realms where the come from.

Band AU
Love this AU bc you get to pick what character plays what instrument and who's the lead singer and give them a bad name and they can go on tours and stuff.

Survival games AU
Kind of like the hunger games but not really the hunger games. Characters are put into teams and they have to kill each other. The goal would be to keep all your team members alive and kill the other team completely, and they have to fend for themselves in the wilderness.

Apocalypse AU
Even though the thought if the apocalypse actually happening scares the shit outta me I love this AU. Picking the way the world ends and the having the characters try and survive until they can get rescued by the military or another group of survivors is fun to write.

Superhero/magical girl/boy AU
Sailor moon and miraculous ladybug being the drawing point for this AU. You get to give the characters cool powers and make them cool costumes and make them fight evil while hiding their identities is so fun to write.

Host club AU
Giving each of the chapters a 'type' and writing them into a host club is fun. Enough said.

Haunting AU
Making some of the characters ghosts and then having them haunt the other characters is fun. One person is a hardcore believer in ghosts and is trying to get everyone else to believe them when when they say they're being haunted as the ghosts watch them is hilarious.
((Just... ghost L throwing books at Light whenever he walks into the room and then Light wondering why this mysterious ghost hates him in particular but can't figure out its L tho))

Magic pets AU
A rather unknown AU, but is really fun to write. You give each character a magic pet like a dragon or a nymph and just have them going about their daily lives trying to get all these magical creatures to get along.

That's kind of all I can think of RN. I'll add more if I think of any.
