Chapter Song: River by Bishop Briggs

"Shut your mouth, baby, stand and deliver. Holy hands, will they make me a sinner. Like a river, like a river."

~

My father and I split up to look for the Argents hoping that it would help us cover more ground. It was a small enough place that we'd hear each other if we needed help, right?

I was currently running down a hall as fast as I could. I wanted to be the one to find Gerard, I wanted to be the one to protect people from his evilness. What I didn't expect was to run into the one person I didn't want to see here. When I mean ran into that person more like I ran right into their loaded crossbow.

" Allison?" I questioned with an eyebrow raised. Why had she decided to join them? Wasn't she on our side? She held the crossbow up to my face and didn't back down. She had fury in her eyes and if looks could kill hers definitely would.

The way she stared at me broke something in me, my heart. It was like she was looking at someone she despised. Sure, I was totally wolfed out but it was nothing she hadn't seen before so what was the big deal?

She walked closer to me and continued to hold the dangerous weapon up to my face and she clenched her teeth and seethed out, " Where's Derek?"

My eyes widened at her tone of voice and my body began to shake gently as I let out in a small voice, " Allison, what are you doing?"

She shook her head angrily, " If you're not going to tell me then get out of my way."

"Allison.." I said on the verge of crying for the like millionth time tonight, everything was just shitty tonight.

" Where is he?" She said once again this time her voice was dripping with even more anger and she smelled of... grief?

She held the crossbow away from my face and pointed it up to the ceiling as she gave me an expectant look waiting for me to answer her. Did she really think I was going to tell her where my dad was when it was quite obvious she wasn't here to just have a friendly talk with him? She looked like she was here to kill.

As I stared at her and she stared back I couldn't help but observe her clothing, nothing on her was her... this wasn't Allison, this wasn't my best friend. She was in all black and had ditched any kind of jewelry, it really fit her new personality but it made me wonder what in the hell happened from when I last saw her. Something was definitely wrong with her I could tell.

I went to walk forward and try to comfort her because obviously something bad had happened, " What happened?"

Before I could even get close to her she whipped the crossbow back down and aimed it once again right on my face. I gulped in fear as I watched my best friend do the thing I never thought she'd do, become one of the heartless Argents that everyone said she was destined to be.
