Chapter 19: Looking Around

Dammit, I did it again.

I let my emotions get the best of me again. It has to be that monster's doing because I don't act like that.

Well, at least I dealt with the problem, but I can't help but think I'm slowly giving in to that black monster. I need to solve that issue before it's too late.

Until then, it's time to look around the town. We're only going to stay here for a couple of days, so that'll be enough time for us to look around and get what we need for the trip.

With the money I got from Derk's base, I'll be able to get the supplies I need. Hell, I could pretty much by a mansion or two with the number of gold coins I got.

Let's also not forget the jewelry as well. Necklaces, rings, and more were with those gold coins.

If I sold them, I wouldn't have to worry about money issues for a while. I don't even have to find a job thanks to Derk.

Anyway, Amy and I began our little tour around the town. We were mostly looking for food and clothes since I only had my clothes from my old world.

I also had some clothes that the village gave to me, so I was currently wearing that under my cloak. I didn't want to draw any attention than I already was with the cloak, so I played it safe.

While walking around, we walked by a food market. Since we were running low on food, we stopped by there first.

We mostly got food and vegetables since that was what was mostly there. Also, I found out that the fruits and vegetables from this world were closely similar to mine.

One of them being these fruits called Sweetcrisps. It reminded me of the apples back home because they had both the color and shape of one.

When I took a bite of one, it even tasted like an apple. It was sweet and crisp just like the name suggests.

There were other familiar fruits too like peaches, pears, and even oranges. We also got some bread and milk to go along with the fruits and vegetables.

After the food market, we went by a clothes store.

We only got a few things from there since we were good on clothing, but Amy did try out a few outfits there. Mostly because the dressers thought she was the perfect model for a few clothing designs.

I think we were stuck there for an hour or so with Amy being forced to try on a bunch of different clothes. To be honest, she actually looked good in most of them.

I even told her that when she complained about doing this. Her response was a really red face, kind of like the Sweetcrisps from before.

Anyway, after Amy was done modeling for the dressers, we left with some clothes and a few outfits that Amy tried on. Next up was the weapons shop.

Since my sword broke thanks to that Ogre, I needed a new weapon. I really shouldn't need a weapon since I can use magic, but I just feel a little bit more comfortable with a sword.

So, we found the nearest weapons store and went inside. That's when we were introduced with a variety of weapons.

Swords, greatswords, bows, daggers, battleaxes, spears, and more were shown all over the store. Since I was only looking for a sword, I searched for only that.

A couple of minutes passed, and I found the sword I wanted. It was a Mithril Sword.

It was about 28 inches in length and looks freshly made too. The blade gave off a glittery silver color and was a lot lighter than my previous weapon.

I also noticed that there were symbols on the blade. After closer examination, I found out that they were runes.

Amy told me that when a sword has runes like this, it was a magic sword.

I was curious about the blade, so I decided to Appraise it.

Damage: 28+

Durability: 28+

Skills: None

Effects: With the runes, the sword's durability and damage will increase with the amount of magic is poured in.

Hmm, this sword's definitely better than my old one. I didn't appraise my old one, but I can tell that this sword was a keeper.

So, I bought the mithril sword and left the shop. It cost around half a gold coin, which was five silver coins.

I was going to buy Amy and weapon too like a staff or something, but she said, "I don't need such primitive tools." These were her words, so I didn't say anything else and moved on.

We've been at this for a few hours now, and we got everything we needed for our trip. It was getting dark, so we decided to call it a day and return back to the Inn.

When we got back, the people there stared at us in both wonder and fear. Well, I did take care of those so-called "Best Adventurers in this town" without breaking as much as a sweat, so it's understandable.

Those bastards were weak, and it was their fault for pissing me off. I just regret that I gave in to my anger and let that monster bastard toy with me.

Well, I can't let that bother me now. What's done is done.

All I can do now and be careful from here on out. That way, this incident won't happen again.

I was pretty tired from today, so I went off to my room and fell asleep. I got another big day tomorrow, so I needed to get some rest.

He made a fool of me . . . That little brat bastard!

After my horrible defeat against that little kid, I rushed back to my base. The anger inside was overflowing.

That bastard. I want to make him suffer for what he did!

I was known for being the best adventurer in this town. The only one!

No one could beat me or my crew. We had a reputation in this town.

Thanks to all the hard work we've been doing, we basically got to do whatever we wanted. No one could stop us, otherwise, there go this town's bests.

And yet that little brat defeated us in mere seconds! A little kid!

I trained for years to hone my skills to their fullest, and I got my ass beat by some damn kid. It's an embarrassment!

There's no way I was going to sit around and do nothing. No way!

I'm getting payback on that shitty brat. There's no way I was going to let this stand.

I'm going to make that brat wish he never screwed with me!
