You gotta be kidding me.

Why the hell is this thing here now? I'm not even asleep right now.

I was fully awake in that dungeon with Amy, Zemmi, and Vlad, so why am I here now?

"What's going on here?" I demanded. "How come you're here?"

The black beast devilishly smiled at me. I felt a little chill run down my spine when it did.

"I brought you here~ I usually have to wait until you fall asleep to drag you over to the deepest part of your subconscious, but you rather made it easy for me this time."

"The hell does that mean?"

How did I make it easier for this thing to drag me here? I was too busy with Korgan and his army to cause this.

"Damien~" It loomed closer to me to the point where I could feel its icy cold breath in my face. "You're usually more guarded than you are right now~ You keep your emotions in check to where it's hard for me to interact with you. That's why I usually talk to you when you sleep. It's because that's when you're in your most vulnerable state~"

So, that's why I've only talked to this thing whenever I sleep? It's because I let my guard down?

But, if that's the case, why am I talking to it now? My guard should be on high alert especially with the Undead Orc situation happening.

That should be the case, yet I'm here now. But, why?

I couldn't wrap my brain around it. I had no idea what made this thing able to drag me off here on its own.

As I tried to figure out how this was happening, the black beast chuckled.

"Hehehehe~ You honestly don't know, do you~?"

"What do you mean?" I asked.

The black beast giggled as it drew closer to me to answer my question. "It's because you're in distress~ The self-doubt, the anxiety, and most importantly; the fear~ You're normally more confident than you are now, but you're practically shaking with fear! It's that delicious fear that gave me the strength to drag you here~"

Fear? I'm...afraid?

I took a moment to consider it. It's true that this Orc problem was causing a lot of anxiety, but I wouldn't say I'm afraid.

This freak must be screwing with me.

"Nice try," I told the beast. "But if you think you can psyche me out that easily, then you're mistaken."

The beast looked at me blankly, like I just spoke in gibberish and it was trying to figure out what I just said. Then, it laughed out loud like a mad man.

"Hahahahahaha~! This is too good~! I didn't expect you to be in this much denial~ Hahahahaha~"

This thing's starting to piss me off.

As the black beast continued to laugh its head off, I glared at it with anger.

"What's so funny," I demanded.

"Hahahaha~! It's you, boy~ The fact that you can't see that you're scared is hilarious~!" The beast continued to maniacally laugh.

"But, I'm not scared," I told it.

"You are~! You're facing an army of undead that can't die. No matter what plan you have, nothing will stop them from taking you down, and that's what terrifies you~"

It's true that Korgan and his army is making me nervous due to their ability to adapt to any death, but I wouldn't say I'm afraid. Sure, I'm anxious about this problem, but I'm not scared.
