Hmm?

How come I'm still in the void?

When I opened my eyes, I realized that I was still in Zerris's domain. There was something different about it, though.

When I was in Zerris's domain, I had this uneasy feeling welling up in me. But now, I don't feel that.

Where's Zerris?

"Hello?" I called out to the void.

There was no reply.

I looked around but found nobody else. Zerris, Amy, that shadow wolf, none of them were here. Now, where am I?

Like when I was in Zerris's place, I started to walk around. Unfortunately, since this whole place was nothing but darkness, I knew there wasn't much to see.

But it turns out that I didn't need to look around because I felt a presence with me. I didn't know how I knew, but I just did.

Unfortunately, when I felt the presence, my body stiffened. When I looked around to find that presence, I was met with something out of a horror movie.

What I was looking at was some kind of monster. It was twice my size and had the appearance of a deformed humanoid animal.

It seems to be on all fours, but something told me that this thing could easily walk on two legs.

It had razor sharp claws that could cut through metal like butter, and glowing blood red eyes that stared menacingly at me. When it opened its mouth, I saw multiple layers of teeth meant for grinding up its prey like a blender.

The monster was also drooling like crazy because black ooze began to stream down its mouth and onto the floor. Something told me that it was drooling because it saw me as food.

The monster then creeps towards me like a predator sneaking up on its prey. My body couldn't move, so I was forced to stand in place as the creature drew closer to me.

As the beast got closer, something felt different. My body loosened up, but instead of running away, I stayed in place.

The reason why was because I didn't feel afraid of it. That part of me that wanted to run away vanished almost instantly and was replaced with this sense of familiarity.

It seems that the monster also had a similar feeling because it stopped crawling to me with intent to kill and stared at me with curiosity. We stared at each other for a couple seconds in complete silence.

That's when the monster gave me a wicked smile. Unlike Zerris's smile, this one didn't send chills down my spine.

"Soon, you will give in to me~" The creature spoke with a gurgling voice.

What the hell did it mean?

I wanted to ask this thing what it was talking about, but everything started to fade away. Once my entire vision was overwhelmed by the darkness, I woke up with a start.

Wait, that was all a dream? It felt pretty real to be just a dream though.

As I looked around, I realized that I was no longer in the black void. I was now in a new environment.

I was currently in some kind of forest. There were trees all around, and I saw a bit of sunlight touching the ground.

"It seems that you're awake now, Master," I turned to see where the voice came from and saw Amy.

She was sitting on a rock along with the Shadow Wolf lying next to her. Were they watching me sleep?

"How long was I asleep?" I asked while looking around the forest.

"Not long. About a day or two."

I've been unconscious for that long? Why didn't they try to wake me up?

I asked them this, but their answer didn't really help me.

"Being transported drains a lot of your energy. Even if we did try to wake you up, nothing would do the trick. That's why we let you rest while keeping an eye out for trouble."

"Was there any danger while I was sleeping?"

"No. Thanks to our threatening auras, no monster or race would dare come near us."

"I see-Wait, what's this about threatening auras?" I asked with a puzzled expression.

"Oh, since the shadow wolf and I were created by Zerris, our auras are far more dangerous and overwhelming than any monster you can come across."

Seriously? I don't sense any threatening auras from them.

"How come I can't sense it?" I asked.

Amy gave me a confused look before realizing something.

"I believe it's because you haven't adapted to your abilities yet. If you want to sense something that others can't, you need training."

Okay, I think I understand. It seems that even though Zerris gave me her blessing, I still need to train myself to use it.

Well, we'll leave that for later on. I still have a few pressing matters to attend to.

One of them being where exactly are we? I know that we're in a forest, but what forest is it?

"Hey, Amy, where are we?"

"We're currently in the Zalkard Forest. It seems that we're also in the very center of it."

"Are we near any kinds of civilization?

"I believe that there's a village close by about three to four miles east of us." Amy pointed towards what I guess was east.

"Alright, we should get moving." I then started to walk towards the direction that Amy pointed.

But before I could walk any further, Amy stopped me.

"Master, why are we going to a village?" Amy asked.

"We need to find shelter and also get food. If there's a village nearby, then the villagers will have all the things we need," I explained.

"I'm not so sure that's a good idea," Amy stated.

"What do you mean?" I asked.

"It's because of your appearance."

I didn't know what Amy was talking about a looked at my clothes. I was wearing blue jeans, a gray shirt, a black leather jacket, and black sneakers.

Now that I think about it, this world era is around medieval times, right? I guess my current attire would make me stand out.

"I guess you're right," I told Amy. "Still, a village has everything we need, so we still have to go there."

Amy stared at me for a minute until sighing.

"As you wish, Master. But I still think it's a bad idea to go to a village."

"Be that as it may, it's our only option. At least until I get a clear understanding of this world."

"If that's what you want, then we won't stop you." Amy declared along with the shadow wolf who stood firmly next to her.

Both of them were ready to follow me wherever I went, so without any more delay, we set off into this new world.

Alright, let's see what this new world has to offer.

Author's Note:

There's not much for me to say except the story will definitely be more interesting than before.

Also, I'm pretty sure we all know what that black beast was, right? I really don't need to explain that now, do I?

Alright, I'll see you guys in the next chapter.

See Ya!
