-Warebo Forest-

A few miles from a town named Dovegreen was the Warebo Forest. A part of this forest served as a temporary base for the Orc Tribe that the Orc Lord, Korgan, rules over.

It's been a couple of days since a certain incident that happened in a town that Korgan's Orc team was supposed to terrorize and report back. So far, he hasn't gotten any word as of yet.

This was certainly concerning. The Orc Lord has been getting frequent messages about his army's success in raiding towns and villages, further spreading fear and pressure on the human kingdom.

Korgan's been doing this to make the Kingdom surrender the Child of Zerris to him. So far, the King hasn't budged.

"This fool is letting his people get killed just because he won't answer my demands. The nerve of that bastard!"

The Orc Lord grumbled to himself as he went through his messages via paper mail. All of them say that the town and village raidings have been a success.

However, there is one mail that hasn't been sent yet. There was supposed to be a message to inform Korgan about the raiding of Walden Town.

But, no letter of any kind was sent. Not only that, his Orc team that went to raid it hasn't returned either.

This was making Korgan anxious. He shouldn't have to be since his Orc army was strong, but after that collision with those human soldiers, he can't help but think something's wrong.

"Damn! What's taking that lot so long?" Korgan couldn't control his anger and slammed his desk.

Thanks to that, there was a big dent in the wooden desk and splinters all over. Believing that his desk was soon to be destroyed due to his anger, he decided to get some air.

Once he got outside, he noticed his Orc tribe was running around frantically. He didn't notice it before while he was inside, but the whole base was in a frenzy.

"The hell is going on here?" Korgan boomed.

One of the Orcs rushed up to The Orc Lord and saluted him.

"My Lord! The Orc team that was supposed to raid Walden Town has returned."

"Really? Then this is good news!" Korgan was happy that his Orcs successfully took down the town.

He just wished that they informed him ahead of time and waited to tell him when they returned.

"U-um, Milord, there is a problem, though." The Orc soldier hesitantly said.

"Hmm? What do you mean?"

Something about the Orc's tone made Korgan's blood run cold. Instantly, his gut told him that something happened to the team.

"Take me to them now!"

"Yes, sir!"

The Orc soldier then led the Orc Lord to where the Orc Team for Walden town was. It seems that they were at the edge of the base.

When they arrived, The Korgan looked in horror at the sight he witnessed. The soldier was telling the truth when he told him that the Orcs from Walden Town returned, but how they returned was entirely beyond the Orc Lord's expectations.

It was nothing more than a pile of corpses, in the form of a pyramid. All of them in pieces, sorted in certain places all, blood coating the grass red.

It's like they were glued together to form this platform of death.

The other Orcs that were there could hardly hold their lunch. Some of them already threw up their food when they first saw the horror show.

"H-how did this happen?" The Orc Lord questioned the soldier that guided him here.

"...We're not sure."

Korgan grabbed the Orc soldier by the shirt and pulled him closer.

"What do you mean you're not sure?! I want to know who did this to our brothers!"

Korgan was beyond furious. Seeing his fellow brethren all cut up into pieces and displayed like some work of art sickened him.

"I-I'm sorry, milord, but we're in the dark about what happened to them. They just showed up like that at the rendezvous base. There's more, though, milord."

"What more can there be?!"

Whatever else happened can't be as impactful than what's laid out in front of him. The gods forbid if that were possible.

"There was a letter on one of the corpses. It was the captain of the team, Morbash."

"Morbash? That can't be!"

Korgan knew Morbash. He was a promising Orc that was going to help him lead an army to Breumore City.

The Orc Lord couldn't believe that one of his most promising Orc Soldiers were dead. Unfortunately, he saw the dead corpse of Morbash laid out on top, well, his head, at least.

Seeing this, The Orc Lord roared with anger. His thunderous shout could be heard all throughout the forest.

Once Korgan was done, the soldier continued.

"W-we have the letter right here, sir. It hasn't been opened yet, since we thought you would want to read it first." He then pulled out said letter, and Korgan instantly snatched it out of his hand.

As the Orc Lord read the note, his eyes burned with rage. When he finished reading it, he practically ripped it to shreds without a second thought.

He even stomped on the ground where the shredded pieces laid just to vent out his frustration.

"That . . . Bastard!" Korgan shouted. "I don't care what that piece of work master said, I'll tear that little bastard apart for what he's done. Mark my words, Child of Zerris!"

It's understandable to be angry.

After all, the note did say this:

Dear Orc Lord,

I heard that you've been looking for me. I guess raiding all those towns and villages finally paid off because you got my attention. However, if you think that I'm going to join you, or that you're going to make me your slave, then you'll need to do better than sending these pathetic Orcs you call soldiers to take me on. But hey, at least you tried, right? Better luck next time!

Sincerely,

The Child of Zerris

P.S: I hope you like my little present. I worked pretty hard in displaying your comrades' bodies to make it look dramatic. I call it "The Pyramid of the Dead!"

Author's Note:

So, I just got done making this chapter, and I wanted to publish it because I wanted you guys to see my handiwork. Specifically the pyramid of the dead.

Just imagine a pile of dismembered corpses in the form of a pyramid with blood all over it. Pretty gory, huh?

Some of you guys may think that Damien wouldn't do something this . . . dramatic, but I'm here to prove you wrong!

Although, even I think I went a little too far. Especially with that letter, Damien made for the Orc Lord.

Oh well, the darker, the better, am I right?

Well, that's all for now. See you in the next Chapter.

See Ya!
