I soon opened my eyes, and the next thing I knew, I found myself back in the black void, lying on the ground.
I quickly got up and looked around. No sign of the black beast.
What the hell was that thing planning? It just got fat and exploded like a water balloon.
Well, at least it's gone, but something tells me this isn't over. I might be in trouble even now.
"This is getting ridiculous," I sighed.
"You'd be right about that," A familiar voice spoke.
And it wasn't just any familiar voice. It was someone who I've had two encounters with already.
I turned around to see Zerris, the goddess of Darkness, standing before me. She was in the same black dress when I first met her.
"Zerris?" I asked.
"In the flesh," She confirmed with a smile. "That little pest was bothering you, so I took the liberty into snatching you out at the last second. If I waited any longer, you would've been consumed."
Consumed? The hell does that mean?
"What do you mean by that?" I asked.
"Well," She took a minute to think about it. "Your mind would've been corrupted by that pest, and you would go into a berserker rage. Kind of like when you fought the Dragon girl and her allies."
Are you kidding me? I would've had to go through something like that again?
Just what the hell is that black beast trying to do? What does it exactly want from me?
"Still, though. I think it would be best if you did go berserk."
Zerris's sudden comment caught my attention.
"Huh?" This was the only thing I could say because I was completely confused by her words.
"Come on, Damien. Those people in that world are nothing but useless creatures. You did nothing wrong, yet they attacked you simply because you were dangerous. Is that really fair?"
What is she saying? Why is she saying this?
I couldn't say anything and only stare dumbfoundedly at her.
"I gave you those powers for a reason, Damien," She told me with a smile. "I wanted you to cause chaos for those mortals. They don't deserve to roam around that world. They're wasting their time with war and greed. And the result is the destruction of the land. I brought you to that world you could wipe them out. To finish them off, so that a new world can emerge from it."
"I-I don't understand," I stuttered.
Zerris placed her hand on my cheek. It felt warm and soothing.
"Damien, I chose you to start a new world there. I gave you your powers so that you can destroy the existing races and create your own. I'm trying to make you a god, just like me."
A god? Why would she want to do something like that?
This doesn't make any sense. There's no way that this is real.
I pulled away from Zerris in alarm. There was no way that this was Zerris.
"What the hell is this? Who are you?" I demanded.
Zerris looked offended by my words. Seeing her hurt expression tugged at my heart a little bit.
"Damien," She gently said. "Don't you want to be a god? You can do whatever you want. Create whatever you want. You can do anything. That's why I gave you my blessing. I gave you a chance to start a new life."
