Chapter 4: Kicking Ass

"You're a vegan?!" Eak leaned to his right side to be able to look past Federico.

"Y-yeah, I am! How do you guys know?" Towntrap looked a bit weirded out.

"We're all-around carnivores. I can smell your fruity perfume from here....." Federico stuck out his tongue and moved his hand in the air to get rid of the smell.

"It's, uhm, deodorant, Sir......" Town rocked back and forth onto his feet.

"I don't care what it is, kid. Come on in." Federico ushered Towntrap into the house.

"Never thought you'd befriend a vegetarian, Eak......" Federico whispered to his son, completely unaware that Towntrap could easily hear him.

"Me neither....." Eak murmured back.

".......it's pretty funny how that kid's taller than you. I thought you didn't like befriending people taller than you."

"And I thought you were gonna make out with mom in the kitchen. Beat it, dad." Eak replied irritated.

As soon as Federico finally left them alone, Eak's mom of course had to step in.

"So you're Towntrap, right?" Jacinta carefully looked Town up and down.

"Yup! It's a pleasure meeting you, ma'am!" Towntrap cheerfully greeted her.

"Ma'am sounds too half-assed. You can call me Jacinta, dear!" Jacinta matched Town's bright tone.

"Sorry, dude..... I totally forgot you were gonna pick me up...." Eak half-heartedly apologized.

"It's fine!" Eak took notice of Towntrap's reddened face.

Oh right. He was still only in his boxers.

"I'll go fetch some clothes, be right back." On Eak's way to his bedroom, he crossed his dad.

"Stop actin' like a shotgun dad and have a fuckin' conversation with my vegan carnal." Eak huffed at the older Mexican.

"Do I gotta? Vegans are lame....."

"Come on, dad! He's a really nice guy, you'll see if you actually try talkin' to him." Eak kept pushing.

"Alright, alright! But if he doesn't appeal to me I'm kickin' him out of the house." Federico lazily started walking downstairs.

"Fine, we were gonna hit the gym anyways so whatever!" Eak shouted after him.

Eak hastily threw on his exercise clothes but took longer than necessary when he tried fixing his hair. By the time he finally got downstairs again, both his parents were loudly laughing and patting Towntrap on the back. Town didn't seem to be intimidated, so Eak guessed his parents weren't trying to cheerfully threaten him.

"Hah, I get it now!" Federico energetically exclaimed.

"What do you get?" Eak went to stand besides Towntrap.

"Oh, nothing! Towntrap just told us about what happened yesterday night!" Jacinta quickly explained.

"Yeah, I bet the word 'pansy' looked real good on ya, son!" Federico offered Eak a shit-eating grin.

His pride had been tainted.

"Dad, I just can't remember......" Eak suddenly muttered in a serious tone.

"Can't remember what?" Federico leaned down a bit to understand his son.

"I can't remember when I ever asked you for your opinion!" Eak spat back at him rather annoyed.
