Eak Mendez was a whole new man.
Well, no, maybe that was kind of an overstatement........ Scrap that, it was a total overstatement. But, Eak was sure people would excuse his overconfident behavior if they'd ever meet his parents.
"I'm a whole new woman!"
Is what Jacinta said every single time she'd gotten the smallest of haircuts.
"The guys at work are gonna be so fucking jealous of my hair, it's hilarious!"
Federico was less subtle about expressing his confidence, but he too would say almost the exact same thing each time he'd come back from the barber.
So was it really that weird that he merely thought 'Wow I look badass!' when he'd looked into the mirror at the barber shop?
He preferred to think it wasn't.
He'd gotten up suspiciously early that morning, at the request of his mom, of course. And after he'd waltzed into the barber shop with the tangliest hair the world had ever seen, the local barber made it his mission to give him 'make-over'. But that was the gay way of saying it.
Eak felt his phone buzz as he got outside, gladly distracting himself from the tendency to run a hand through his newly-styled hair.
Vegan bud🍎: U g/ng to the park tday?
Me👌: Ye, brt
Vegan bud🍎: Ok! ^^
Town's text unintentionally made Eak think about yesterday's events.
What if Bon and Meg were there?
That would be hella awkward.........
Or what if they told his gang about what he'd yelled at them?
His reputation would be damned.
And fuck, he can't have that! Not now that he's finally found the right group of friends.......
Maybe he could play it off as a joke? Pretend he didn't end up crying like a bitch 'cause of his own words?
Sure, he was good at pretending. He'd be able to pull that off.
And before Eak knew it he was standing in front of the skating park's entrance and yeah maybe he couldn't do this.
Stepping through the front gates, Eak's footsteps were light as he maneuvered his way through the crowd of skating kids that had the highest chances to run him over.
Okay, almost at the back........
Eak abruptly stopped walking, at last ran a hand lightly through his hair, and shook his head. He was being a pussy about this. It was time to man up.
After Fox growled at some scooter kid to 'scram', Bonnie continuously slapped his shoulder and pointed ahead of them.
