Chapter 21: The Plan

"Oh.....what's going on over here?" Puppet asked, trying to sound surprised.

Eak quickly figured out Puppet send him outside to make sure Mai didn't burn something important down.

"We were just talking!~" Mai cheerfully stated, getting up from the ground and waltzing over to her brother.

"I see. Anyways, here's your drinks~" Puppet handed Mai a cup of orange juice while he offered Eak a cup of beer.

Eak grinned and eagerly took a sip of it.

"How'd you get this, anyways? I don't think they'd believe it if you told the bartender you're eighteen." Eak looked up at Puppet with a raised eyebrow.

"They don't care 'bout that in this place." Puppet answered with a shrug.

"Makes sense."

"Should we put the fire out?" Eak eventually asked, eying the burning pile a bit warily.

Pup thought for a moment.

"Nah. 'S probably fine." Was his final conclusion.

"Are the Nightmares done talking yet?" Mai curiously questioned.

"Yup! Let's go back inside, shall we?~" Puppet already headed on inside.

Eak followed after the twins, lazily sipping away at his drink and glancing around the crowd. Then something caught his eye.

In front of the bathroom, in the back of the building, Onnie was talking to a tall man with slick brown hair who looked quite intimidating. Eak couldn't understand what Onnie was saying, but he sounded upset. And the man.......seemed indifferent. Eak sucked in a breath as he watched the man slap Onnie across the face.

Son of a bitch......

Eak really wanted to just march over there and knock the man's teeth out.

But by the looks of that, the man was probably the boss of The Nightmares. They probably wouldn't appreciate it if he assaulted their boss.........

So he kept his head low and continued heading towards his group of friend.

But no way that he was just gonna leave it there.......

"Hey, guys! We're back!" Mai cheerfully announced, energetically standing next to Maggie.

"Is that beer?" Maggie gestured towards Eak's cup.

"Yup." Eak noticed Maggie's gaze and gave her the beer.

She took a long, relieved sip from it before giving it back to the Mexican.

"Thanks." She lightly smiled at him.

"No prob. So, what're you guys up to?" Eak looked around the group.

"Nothin' much. Just discussing how gay A Nightmare On Elm Street 2 was." Fox replied, as if it were the most normal conversation topic ever.

Well, Mai's interest surely seemed peaked.

Eak was rather distracted throughout the entire conversation. So distracted even, that he didn't even realize Onnie had returned to join them.

"Yooo, bro!" Oxy and Onnie's high-five startled Eak, making him snap out of his trance.

"Got the money!" Onnie proudly took out a few dollar bills.

"Oh, cool! Did boss say anything else?" Deuz took the money from Onnie and stuffed it in his pockets.

Onnie's eyes casually narrowed.

"Nope."

Eak shot Onnie a look, which completely went by the blue-head.
