(So I wanted to try and write this chapter in present tense, just to see I guess? If you guys prefer it in past tense, please let me know, and if you don't mind either way, I guess I'll keep writing in present tense? I'm down to write in either ways
Also for those wondering how many chapters Team is gonna have, idk?? Originally I only planned to have like 48 chapters but here we are on 61 lol. I don't think it'll get to 100, because I only have, like, two more major events happening that have a couple of chapters build-up, as well as character backstory but the end is slowly nearing
Updating schedule will be Sunday from now on, I'll try to stay consistent with it!)
Lilly reaches over to pick up her phone from the nightstand.
Tuesday
July 13th, 1:06 AM
Lilly can't sleep at all, she's got tons of energy. She's just so excited for tomorrow, ready to give it her all even though she can't fight for shit. Fighting with Jack and his goons had actually been really thrilling, seeing their bodies hit the floor was satisfying.
Okay, that sounded a bit messed up. Lilly just likes the feeling she gets whenever someone she knew got justice, especially if she helped taking part in it.
That had been good. That was nice. Hell, Lilly might even sing during the fight tomorrow, if Owynn lets her. Felix probably wants to sing too, but whatever. She'll make sure she gets to perform this time.
Singing. Lilly loves singing. Relating to lyrics wasn't a common thing for her, with how uninteresting her life is, in general. But when she did relate, singing the song in question was like a release. A release of the common stress she felt, whether it be from school work or the rather illegal activities she's participated in over the summer.
The alliance, Eak's group or whatever, did make her feel free. She's doing something rebellious behind her parents' back, something she'd usually never do. Once Lilly got a taste of what it was like to be in a gang, she couldn't get enough of it.
Being in a gang is surprisingly fun. It wasn't like the things she saw on TV. Eak's friends didn't have their hair styled in Mohawks, didn't have their noses or lips pierced, didn't have scary tattoos on every possible place on their body. Eak's friends didn't hold up ATM machines at the gas station for no reason, they didn't suddenly jump up from behind street corners to demand your wallet.
Lilly likes it. Likes being part of the alliance.
It's good for her. Being in the group is like her medicine, she's never felt more relaxed and happy before.
Most importantly, going on all these adventures makes her feel alive.
Lilly gently pries Abby's arms around her waist loose, not at all surprised when her girlfriend continues sleeping like a log, even when Lilly pushes her off.
She's kind of naked, so she throws on one of Abby's T-shirts that are way too big on her. It's the black one with the flamingo, the one Abby really likes.
Lilly has to piss. But she also kinda wants to make breakfast, even though it's only 1 AM. As she's doing her business, multiple thoughts fly through her brain all at once.
Lilly's going to remove the calcium building up under Abby's faucet.
She's going to text her parents that she's at Abby's, just to make sure they don't go berserk once they wake up and see that she's gone.
