(Sorry, this chapter is more of a feel-good and exploring relationships chapter but I promise there will be more action soon XD♡)
"So how was your trip to the beach?" Chica's mom asked as she pushed a pancake onto her daughter's plate.
"Fun! We made some new friends, and we're gonna have a jam session with them and The Toys tomorrow! At Toddy's mansion, y'know......." Chica quickly glanced up at her mother to see her excited expression and grinned.
"Oh my God take some pictures of her house! I gotta make Linda jealous with those!" Chica's mom energetically ordered, taking the sugar out of the cupboard.
"Did she insult your brownies again at book club?" Chica asked, honestly incredibly amused by her mother's distaste for the woman.
"Uh-huh. And I swear I saw the way the other moms at book club where visibly disgusted by her lemon bars! It's just a matter of time before the tea spills." Carolina Montero was quite the competitive woman.
"Sure, mom. You tell 'em." Chica smiled at the blonde.
"Eric is coming home for the weekend, by the way! So I'm hoping you don't have any plans for then........." Carolina quietly trailed off, warily eyeing her daughter.
Chica groaned and sunk back in her chair a bit. Her brother had left for college a while ago, and unfortunately that was right after a huge fight he had with her. It had just been about something stupid. Chica was gonna miss him, Eric was being a dick to deal with the home sickness he was obviously gonna get and it just got out of hand from there.
Of course Chica knew he'd come back for the summer eventually, but somehow Eric being two weeks later than originally planned made things even more awkward for her.
"Look, Honey, I know you two didn't exactly say goodbye to each other on the right note, but I'm sure he'll be over it by now! Please just be there for your brother, okay? Maybe you two could go to the movies together?" Carolina cheerfully suggested.
"I guess....... I'm pretty sure that second killer clown movie is out by now!" Chica mentioned, taking a bite out of her pancake.
"Sure, if you can convince 'Eric coulrophobia Montero' to go to that movie with you, be my guest." Carolina didn't look very convinced.
Chica offered her mom a confused look.
"The fear of clowns." Carolina simply replied.
"Oh."
Bonnie was busying himself with cleaning up his guitar, paying no attention to Fred who was babbling on about some girl that rejected him whatsoever.
"I mean, can you believe it? That was my best pick-up line yet! Even Fox's gay-ass would've fell for it!" Fred huffed, throwing up his hands in a fit of frustration.
"No he wouldn't." Bonnie snorted.
"He would if you said that to him, though." Fred pointed out, crossing his arms and finally stopping with the act of pacing around Bonnie's room.
"Correct me if I'm wrong, but it kinda seems like you're a little jealous of me and Fox getting together." Bonnie commented with a knowing smile.
Fred nearly spit out his non-existent drink.
"Excuse me? Me? Jealous?? Never! Not of you two, at least. If anything, I'd be more jealous of Usagi and Deuz! Such a gorgeous girl with some......John Bender wannabe like Deuz!" Fred huffed with a shake of his head.
"Oh, like you're such a saint! Now that I think about it, weren't you also super happy when Meg and Bon broke up? You seemed a bit too cheerful. Even happier than Joy." Amusement was replaced with genuine curiosity as Bonnie questioningly looked at his friends.
