(Sorry for the incredibly late chapter :'') Homework's been killing me, so apologies if the next couple chapters come out late. I know I've been hyping up the pit fight for a good ten or so chapters now but I swear aghsjkf we're A L M O S T there. Btw, I made a few changes to chapter 54 in the beginning, because I realized that my approach to Lilly's storyline was a bit unrealistic, so I added a bit more to it. Just a hint, Lilly's basically pretending she doesn't know what's wrong with her, she's unconsciously denying the truth, which is why the writing seems so vague in that part)
Freddy chain-smoked two cigarettes on Owynn's front lawn before deciding to man up. In other words, let Fred man up.
"Can't even knock a door, huh?" Fred commented with no real fire behind it as Freddy let him take over.
"Buzz off. You said you'd do it......" Freddy defensively answered.
"Yeah. Don't worry 'bout it, I got this! Owynn will be smitten by us and our charming gift in no time! Platonically, of course." Fred hastily added, blatantly lying to himself.
"Right."
"Maybe we should take off the jacket first, it's hot as balls!" Just as Fred started taking off the leather, the front door swung open.
The same ginger lady Freddy saw that night after the first money concert appeared in the doorway, baseball bat in hand.
"You try'na sell something?" The freckled woman quirked an eyebrow at him, frowning in a rather intimidating way.
"N-no." Fred grimaced when the lady with the bat came closer. He took a quick step back, shoving the pack of cigarettes deeper inside his pocket.
"Your jacket tells me somethin' else......" The woman peered down at Fred's jacket through her thick, black glasses.
If Fred squinted his eyes he could make out the woman was wearing a thin layer of make-up.
"What are you doing on my lawn?" The lady demanded, snatching her phone out and looking ready to dial the fucking police.
"I-I'm here to see Owynn! Don't call the police, please!" Fred stammered.
Owynn's mom squinted her eyes for a moment, then her face lit up.
"Oh! You're that kid I mistook for a hooker. Sorry, I thought you were out to sell drugs. Freddy, right?" The woman did a complete turn and smiled at him warmly.
Gah..... Owynn really wasn't lying about his mom being 'hardcore'.
"Yeah."
The ginger woman held the door open a little wider, putting the baseball bat aside. Fred cautiously walked through the door. Owynn's house was a bit small, but cozy in a way Fred couldn't help but think it was kind of fancy.
"Well, I'm actually heading out to work. So, keep it PG, alright?" Owynn's mom, who Fred could finally see was called Lana, judging by the name tag on her shirt, casually stated.
Fred felt his face lit up but before he could reply, Lana was standing by the stairs and yelling.
"OWYNN! YOUR FRIEND IS HERE TO SEE YOU!"
"I DON'T HAVE ANY FRIENDS, MA!"
Fred could hear a muffled 'fuck you' coming from above, and with panic realized that that must've been Cami.
"IT'S THAT FREDDY KID! The one who I thought was your boyfriend." Lana, shameless as usual, added.
"He's not my boyfriend, ma! Oh my God!" Owynn screeched back.
