Chapter 19: Hang-out

Towntrap helplessly watched as Fox and Deuz were loudly going at each other's throats for reasons currently unclear to him. Town and the gang had agreed to meet up at the skating park, and to their surprise, The Nightmares were there too, with the intention of thanking them for the help from yesterday. Deuz and the others planned on getting out of there as soon as they thanked each and every person individually, but Fox refused to let them leave before they'd thank Eak as well.

"Can't you just tell 'im I said thanks??" Deuz growled, lightly pushing Fox back who held him by his collar.

"No! Stop being a pussy and just thank him already! Christ, it's not that big of a deal...... If you can thank me of all people, you should be able to thank Eak too." Fox stated, not budging whatsoever.

Deuz dramatically rolled his eyes, causing Maggie to sigh.

"He's just moody cuz Usagi threatened him with 'no pussy' for a week if he wouldn't apologize to y'all." She simply stated.

"MAGGS!" Deuz's face flushed a dark red as he angrily glared at his friend.

"I mean, she ain't wrong!" Onnie snickered, followed by ridiculously loud laughter from Oxy.

"Really? Your only motivation for thanking us is cuz you wouldn't get some if you didn't?" Golden boredly stared the Nightmare's leader down.

"It's not just cuz of that! And she didn't even threaten me with that! She just challenged me to do it, and who am I to turn down a challenge? I guess I just......." Deuz paused for a moment to awkwardly scratch the back of his neck.

"Really, really appreciate what you guys did for us. All of you....... I probably wouldn't have done it myself, so I really admire it that y'all wanted to throw yourselves into a fight like that." Deuz finished with a rather bashful grin.

"Aww, that's actually really sweet!" Chica slightly smiled at Deuz's confession.

The mood cleared up a bit. Well, that was until-

"Yo, I heard the word fight so here I am." A smooth, hot voice said from behind Chica.

Wait, wait......she didn't just think of Eak's voice like that, right? Pfft, nah, of course not! That....that would be ridiculous.

"You can get lost already." Deuz looked mentally unprepared at Eak's entrance.

Eak rolled his eyes at Deuz's comment while Oxy gave Deuz an annoyed punch to the shoulder.

"What're you guys doing here, anyways?" Eak looked at The Nightmares with a raised eyebrow.

"Well, we came here to thank you guys, of course! What y'all did was pretty dope so....thanks!" Onnie lazily gave Eak a thumbs-up.

"Yeah, thanks!" Oxy offered the Mexican a wide-somewhat terrifying-grin.

"........thank you." Eak was once again taken off guard by Maggie's smile.

Huh.....her smile was really pretty. Eak remembered that his mom once said "People who rarely smile, usually have the sweetest ones!"

Guess she was right about that.

Eak expectingly looked at Deuz, waiting for the douche-bag to finally show some sign of gratitude towards him.

"........what?" Deuz huffed and narrowed his dark blue eyes from Eak's nerve-wracking yellow ones.

"You gon' thank me or what?" Eak boredly asked.

Deuz did another over-dramatic eye-roll before briefly nodding.
