Jacinta was kinda zoning out of the conversation by now. Martina was going on and on about the neighbor's dog, who Lord forbid it, had attempted to take a dump on her lawn. She kept pouring herself and those around her more Martini's and Samuel, being the light-head he was, slowly started flirting with Federico instead of Jacinta, probably hallucinating their faces differently.

Martina didn't seem to notice or care, turning to Jacinta again, a mischievous spark in her eyes.

"What's on your mind, lady?" Jacinta huffed out a laugh, raising a single eyebrow at the shorter woman.

"I was just takin' a blast to the past in my brain when I came to the realization that you guys missed a really important day back in high school!" Martina replied, suddenly looking very interested in the couple in front of her.

"Really?" Federico didn't seem to know what the hell she was talking about.

"Come on, Sammy! You gotta help me here, what day was it again?" Martina energetically slapped her husband's arm.

"Uuuuh......oh yeah! The day before the big baseball match, right?" Samuel contributed, like his wife looking way more awake all of a sudden.

"And also the day before our dodge-ball match with the team from that other school! What was the name again?" Martina frowned, putting on her drunk thinking face.

"Randéla High?" Federico offered.

"Yeah, that's it! What even happened back then? Did you two, like, skip school that day to have sex together???" Martina wildly gasped, as if she'd just found out a scandalous secret or something.

Yeah, she was really, really drunk. Federico was merely a bit tipsy as he looked over at his wife, eyebrows furrowing together as both of them simultaneously remembered what the real reason had been.

A 16-year old Federico Mendez was scribbling stuff down in his notebook, earning a confused look from the foreign exchange student Hiroshi.

"Dude, what are you doing?" Hiroshi asked, skeptically staring at Federico's notebook with his mint-green eyes.

"I'm drawin' a cat." Federico replied, shrugging.

The cat looked more like the demon from The Exorcist, a movie he'd had the pleasure of seeing last year, but which had unfortunately caused Federico to not sleep for two weeks straight afterwards.

His mad game with the girls had been completely thrown off for a while. But this year, however, he was going at it! Federico Mendez was getting more popular by the day. So yeah, his ranking in the social stats of high school was pretty high. It also really helped that he was totally against bullying. Chicks totally dug heroes! Which is why Federico had decided to defend Hiroshi from the racist bullies at their school, but as it turned out, Hiroshi was actually pretty cool to hang out with.

Which is why he decided to let the next comment slide.

"That looks horrible."

"Thanks." Federico snorted, attempting to make the cat look even more horrible than it already did.

"We're actually supposed to be studying for our English test now." Hiroshi commented, tone sounding the slightest bit amused.

"I forgot my book." Federico simply confessed.

"You can borrow my notes."

"Thanks, amigo!" Federico grinned, fist-bumping his friend.
