you felt like crap the whole day so you just stayed on the sofa and watched netflix. as much as you needed to, you couldn't go to sleep. Angel had been gone all day, which wasn't unusual, and he said he'd be back by midnight so you wanted to stay up and wait for him.

you had been dozing in and out of sleep when you hear angel open the front door and his footsteps heading toward your spot in the living room.

"hey babe, i'm home" he whispers as you squint at him through blurry vision, your head pounding in your ears. all you're able to do is nod as you try to sit up, angel helping you.

"have you gotten any sleep?" he asks as he turns off the tv

you shake your head no and stifle a yawn. "okay c'mon i'm carrying you to bed" he says as he leans down and tries to pick you up.

"i can walk" you say as you wave his arms away

"you wanna walk by yourself? alright, let's see that" he says pointedly, knowing you wouldn't let him carry you until you at least tried to do it yourself

you stand up but your legs buckle and you fall back onto the sofa. you let out a small sigh, "okay so maybe i do need help" you pout as you lift your arms up

"hm told you so" angel grins triumphantly, knowing he won. he leans down and you wrap your arms around his neck as he lift you up bridal style.

you move your arms from around his neck and into your lap as you snuggle closer to his chest, hearing his heartbeat.

he reaches the bedroom and gently lays you down on the bed. he strips down to his boxers and gets in the bed next to you. you immediately curl into his chest and your eyes start drifting closed

you feel his arms wrap around your waist and he kisses your forehead, "i'm gonna be here when you wake up and take care of you for the day" you hear him say through a haze.

"okay" you mumble with a smile as your eyes finally drop and you go to sleep
