Monday nanaman, another week na bubunuin ko. Kaya ko pa ba? Yan ang naiisip ko simula kaninang 5 A.M. nang magising ako. Although 10 A.M. pa ang klase ko. I just finished with my morning work out, nagsisimula na akong mag-handa para makakain na ng breakfast. I got some of Mom's left over Paella and Bianca's Shepherd's Pie. I reheated them in the microwave.
I opened my phone and scrolled through my social media, it has been a few weeks since I had the opportunity to look at it. May tatlong new messages from Facebook Messenger, isa galing kay Glaiza Galura, yung isa kay Jason Choachuy at yung isa from an old school mate back in High school. I read Glaiza's message first.
Glai: Rhi, asan ka?
It was sent an hour ago this morning. I opened the message and started to type.
Me: Nasa condo ko, why? Is there a problem in our department?
I figured it must be a problem in one of the outreach programs we were planning on doing, dahil bakit siya magmemessage ng hindi related dito? Eh hindi naman kami close. My mind berated me.
I seen zoned the other two messages and placed them on mute. I don't have the time to be distracted especially now I am spearheading two groups. Maya-maya lang ay nagreply si Glaiza sa message ko.
Glai: Nagtataka lang ako bakit wala ka pa, wala naman problema. Hindi lang ako aware na may condo ka pala, saan ang condo mo?
Me: Sa Lacson street.
Glai: Katatapos lang ng practice ko para sa intercollegiate singing contest, I was wondering if we could have coffee?
Me: A ok. I am having breakfast pa lang, if you want you can drop by, malapit lang naman sa school natin to.
Glai: Cool. Saang building?
Me: Sa Manila Oasis.
Glai: Ok. Be there in 10 minutes. I just have to get us coffees. See you soon.
Me: Okay, Glai.
I put my phone back in my back pocket and proceeded to take out the reheated food from the weekend. I was wearing my tank top and gym shorts. I sat at the living room and switched on the TV. I settled in the couch as I watched a crime investigation show.
Ito ang guilty pleasure ko, to watch crime investigations. I wanted to be a Forensic Psychologist. I still do, but my heart wanted to be in the hospital to help people through their depression and other issues they might be facing, dahil madami sa mga Pilipino ang nadedepress.
Maya-maya biglang nagring ang intercom ko sa Condo, I answered the call.
"Ma'am Howell, may bisita po kayo, Glaiza Galura daw po, papaakyatin na po ba namin?"
Sabi ni Kuya Guard sa receiver.
"Yes, please. Salamat Po."
Then a few more minutes had past, my doorbell rang, I opened the door.
"Good morning, Rhian." Glai smiled.
"Pasok ka Glai. Good morning din sayo." I smiled back at her.
