It has been three days since I caught Glaiza in a compromising position. I was currently in a meeting with Dad for a year end budget proposal when my phone rang, it was Glaiza. I turned my phone off and apologized to Dad.
"Sorry Dad. You were saying?" I said to him.
Dad's expression changed from serious to a worried look.
"Rhian, hija. Have you tried talking to Glaiza? She's been trying to call you." Dad said to me.
"Dad, again. I don't want to talk to her. I don't want to have any interaction with her." I said firmly as tears fell down my eyes, they seemed to be automatic these past three days.
"Sweet heart, up until when are you planning on keeping this up? She deserves to be heard hija, baka naman pasyente lang nya yun? Perhaps a crazy fan of hers?" Dad reasoned.
"Dad, can we go back to the meeting?" I asked him.
"Hija, how are you going to get married kung biglang ayaw mo na lang kausapin si Glaiza? You do understand that love doesn't work that way right?" Dad reminded me.
"I do dad i-it's just... *Sigh* Have you ever felt confused about Mom? Was there ever a time when you don't understand what you've done wrong to get a specific treatment from her?" I asked Dad as I sighed.
Dad thought about it and when he smiled, yung nakakaloko nyang smile the one he always gives me when he's thought of something.
"As a matter of fact there were quite a lot actually." He laughed at the thoughts he had.
"What did you do?" I asked him.
"Well, it's no secret that I love your mother very dearly diba?" Dad asked me.
"Yeah." I replied to him.
"Well there's your answer. Love, dapat mahal na mahal mo yung taong pakakasalan mo. You see sweetie I'm sure your mom had those feelings of uncertainty with me as well, but everyday we strive to talk things out, we love each other that much that we will resolve everything with peaceful conversations. Use your heart anak." Dad smiled.
"Dad, I love her at least I know so before this happened, now I-I just don't know anymore." I explained to Dad.
"Sweetie, there are a lot of reasons as to why she did what she did. All you need to do is to talk to her, find out the reasons why. If the reason is enough and the love you have for her is enough, then go get her, wag puro pride ang paiiralin, a heart that truly loves is compassionate, listen, learn and forgive." Dad said as he pulled me in for a hug.
"Oh and I have no other questions about your department's proposed annual budget, I trust that you're capable of discerning where the budget must be allocated. You can take the time off now, think about your future with her what do you say?" Dad said smiling.
"Thank you Dad." I said as I hugged him back.
"You're welcome, Sweetie. Now go." Dad said as he led me out to my office.
"Thank you po ulit dad." I said as I tiptoed to kiss his cheek.
"Welcome, sweetie. We'll expect her for Christmas Lunch." Dad smiled as one of his staff approached him.
Hindi na ako naka-singit, dahil busy na sila mag-usap para sa darating na year end meeting bukas. I opened my phone and read Glaiza's messages she left. There must be 100 messages left, 10 sa social media accounts ko, habang singkwenta naman sa text at 300 missed calls from her, it was crazy how she never stopped trying to call me. I read each message and could only remember her voice as I read each message, I imagine her crying as she typed these messages, they were long and detailed. Each saying that it was an obsessed parient of hers, sa anggulo na nakita they were kissing but she said she pushed her back at nagulat na lang daw siya na sinabunutan at kinaladkad ko na ang babaeng iyon. She explained her story and everything about who Arci was.
