Happy Birthday, Love!

Glai and I have been very busy these past few weeks. Birthday ni Glaiza ngayon, so I made an elaborate effort to surprise her today. I found out that she was going to a birthday outreach at Tondo, Manila. So I set up my condo at Lacson Street. I have called an event organizer and a caterer to fix the party for me, I also called Glaiza's college friends as well as my friends which we normally hanged out with when we are not busy with our lives, predominantly her friends but I had a few close college friends. Ganun ata talaga, I was a social butterfly back in college, I knew a lot of people but could only depend on Bianca and Solenn. I left Bianca and Angelica in charge of fixing up the condo along with the Organizer and the Caterers. It was lunch time and we were not supposed to meet until the afternoon, which gave me time to buy her a birthday gift. Over the years, we celebrated her birthday by letting her have an outreach and end the day with an intimate dinner with our friends. We always made sure that this day was celebrated with a proper dinner to cap off the day. This year was no exemption, only we were making it more special by throwing a big surprise party for Glaiza. None of our friends greeted her and it was making her wonder why, I knew because she posted kanina lang on her Twitter she was lamenting that no one even her Girlfriend remembered it was her birthday. Something we all laughed at because little did she know at exactly 5 P.M. when her program ends, her driver will whisk her away and bring her to my condo where I and her friends are waiting with our party poppers, hats and cake. I also agreed to sing a song for the birthday girl, it was one of her songs she wrote called Sinta it was the same song she serenaded me when she proposed na manliligaw na siya sa akin. Parang kailan lang, we were two mischievous people always finding ourselves in love with the wrong person, I most especially had been into quite a lot of wrong loves, kung bakit kasi ang sarap sa pakiramdam ang umibig kahit pa sa maling tao. I laughed at the thoughts I had as I drove to a mall.
I decided to pick up a few clothes for Glai, because that's what she needed being that she's always out in the public's eye, she couldn't be seen wearing the same clothes all over again as her career steadily climbed up, she needed new clothes. It's not that she doesn't buy new clothes, but knowing she values money so much that instead of buying new clothes and shoes, she'd save it up and invest in stocks. Ganun kasinop ang mapapangasawa ko, she argued with me one time that she's not rich and she wanted to save up for our future, according to her our kids would be poor if we didn't save up for them. I would have argued that we will make sure that the kids will be part heiress or heirs of Howell Medical Group. But knowing I wasn't really planning on keeping this job I had at Dad's Hospital, doon ko narealize na ako nga na anak ni Daddy napilitan lang na magtrabaho dito, paano pa ang mga anak namin ni Glaiza? What if they decide to pursue other things aside from Medicine? From that point I established a trust fund for them, I saved half of my salary and deposited half of it in an investment account I had with my bank. Glai and I lived simply, we mostly cooked for each other save on days we celebrated something special like each other's birthdays, Christmas and anniversaries. We both agreed to only spend on these special occasions as well as for the twice a year trips we take yearly in the summer and November.

Kasalukuyan akong gumagala sa Mall at nagtitingin ng mga damit para kay Glaiza. I already bought her one dress, now looking at some skinny jeans from a shop. Because one of her jeans recently gave up because of a prolonged wear and tear. I've done my best to remind her to buy new jeans but her hectic schedule won't allow her to even go to the mall. Once I was done sorting through the jeans section, I bought the three pairs I found that fit her perfectly. She's a size 25 so it wasn't really hard to find her a pair, the thing is how it fits her. She doesn't want her butt hugged by the jeans, which is funny because she likes me in a butt hugging jeans. After buying her jeans I went to a cafe and got myself an iced coffee at pagtapos ay nagmaneho na pabalik sa Condo ko. I finished shopping at around 4:30 P.M. I have 30 Minutes to make it back to my condo and check on the preparations.
