First Day: Junior's Assembly

Rhian's POV:

It's another school year, as usual I was one of the candidates for the presidency of our year level. My name is Rhian Howell, 3rd year Psych student sa Far Eastern University. It was my destiny to be enrolled here, my parents are both graduates here in FEU. My mother was a medicine graduate here and my father a medicine graduate as well. Dr. Gareth Howell and Dra. Clara Howell. They met sa hallway ng isa sa mga buildings dito. When mom was a freshman and dad was a sophomore. Since then they were inseparable.

People think I'm straight, but I am otherwise. I had a couple of girlfriends and boyfriends too. So I'm Bifemme, Bisexual na Femme, I prefer girls who dresses like I do, yung hindi butch. But I keep it hush-hush since people in this community tend to judge and I don't want any of their judgement on me. There are a lot of things to advocate for and my sexual preference isn't one of them. Gets?

Anyway, nakatayo ako ngayon sa stage, waiting for the emcee to finish introducing the party I was running with. Ang partidong Change Is iNtegral To Accountability or C.I.N.T.A kasalukuyang pinapakilala ang kabilang partido, ang partido ng Alliance of Committed and Accountable Students or ACAAS for short.

Ang running mate ko ay ang best friend kong si Biancs or Bianca King. Biancs was fidgeting beside me as the introductions start.

"Biancs, kalma besh! Hindi ka nila kakainin okay?" I whispered to her.

"Babe, matutunaw na ata ako, tignan mo yung mga tingin nila oh? Sabi kasi sayo eh hindi na dapat ako ang kinuha mong vice."

"Baby girl, kundi lang kasi nagtransfer ng course si Bea dapat talaga siya ang running mate ko, eh kaso nga biglaan. Suportahan mo na lang ako." I whispered back to her.

Bianca had been my best friend since forever, she's a shy girl but trustworthy. Kaya naman siya ang pinili kong running mate. Laban sa isa pang 3rd year na taga department namin. Si Glaiza Galura na never heard of until now. Joke! She's the school's songbird, FEU's Nightingale at isa din sa mga nakakalaban namin through the years but she never won against us. Bea on the other hand was an acquaintance in the department, we had the same visions and drive for the student body.

We smiled and waved at the student body as soon as our party was introduced. We all said our platforms for the student body. Si Glaiza at Bianca ang magkalaban sa posisyon, habang ako at ang best friend ni Glaiza na si Angelica Charlson ang magkalaban. Angelica was a nice girl, naging kaklase ko na ito sa isang subject namin. Pero she was always second best. Para siyang always there but always taken for granted kind of girl. Malakas humugot sa klase si Angge, kaya naman nakakarelate sa kanya ang student body.

She was relatable but not necessarily a threat. Pagtapos magsalita ni Bianca ukol sa kanyang platoporma sakaling ma-elect sya as VP ng department namin. She got back to where we were seated and handed me the Microphone.

I waved at the students and smiled at them.

"Hi, fellow students! Ako po si Rhian Howell na inyong lingkod. As always, I won't promise anything I won't be able to keep. But over the last two school years, the trust you gave me has enabled me to implement projects that matters to your hearts. Things like our monthly activities such as seminars and talks about psychology, open forums and the 24-Hr. Student help line we established." I paused to let them absorb the magnitude of the projects I managed to implement for them.

"Now, another school year. I have a lot of plans that are yet to unfold. But, I need your help. I need your help to let me know what your heart needs most, I will listen to your ideas, together we will implement projects that will not only help you as a student but as a community. I ask you guys to vote straight, Vote wisely. Vote CINTA Party! Dahil dito, kayo ang aming CINTA."
