Central Elections Campaign

It has been a few weeks after the Tatak Tamaraw event, two weeks after Solenn and I signed up as running mates for the Central Elections. Nangangampanya na kami sa ngayon. Nasa Freedom Park kami ngayon, kung saan naka-station ang booth namin, habang sa may bandang chapel naman naka-station ang booth ng kabilang partido. Solenn ran as my VP, dahil hindi nito kakayaning isabay ang mga final plates na kailangan nyang tapusin para sa pagtatapos nya sa Kolehiyo.

I on the other hand already got my final thesis approved, we'll work on the chapters all through out the rest of our time here in school at habang naka-ojt kami. So my work load was lighter than Solenn's. I was writing my speach for later's classroom campaign. When Glaiza approached me.

"Rhian, tatanong ko lang yung sa upcoming Power Up talk natin, nakausap ko na si Doc Lance Mendoza, pwede daw siya ng ganung araw, kaso may problema tayo kay Doc Megan Ong, nagpapa-add kasi siya ng pera para sa fees nya." Glaiza asked me.

"Teka, sino ba yung Doc Megan na yan? Anong akala nya satin ma-pera? Pumayag na nga ako to pay her 500 pesos when it should be free." I huffed at her.

"Uhm, Rhian. If you don't mind, pwede naman ang Parents ko sa araw na iyon, they're well experienced with helping out, sila na lang ang guest speaker natin."

"Glaiza, are your parents even qualified to speak? Because if they are, yes. We could have them. I don't mean to undermine your parents ha? It's just me checking on their qualifications, I hope it doesn't offend you." I said to her nang makita kong nawala ang ngiti sa kanyang mata the moment I asked her.

"None taken Rhian. I'll check in on them. I'll get back to you for the final plans." She said as she stood up from the table.

She proceeds to pull her phone out, she makes a phone call as she walked away. I watched as she disappears from my line of sight. Siya namang dating ni Solenn from her class.

"Hi, baby whian." She greeted me cheerfully.

"Hey, Sol." I greeted her.

"Oh, why are you sad?" Solenn asked me. 

"It's nothing, unang stress para sa Power-Up talk namin. Yung isang Doctor nagpapadagdag ng Fee. Dapat nga Free lang yun since Alumni naman siya dito sa FEU." 

"Wait, nagpapadagdag? Saan mo naman nakuha yung ipapambayad? May funds ang Department niyo?" Solenn asked. 

"No, Sol. I offered to pay. It's an out of pocket expense." I sighed. 

"What?! Rhian!?" 

"Sol, kasi naman si Doc Megan eh. Ayaw nyang pumayag noong una, then I asked if she could consider if we paid her a small amount. We agreed on 500 Pesos as a small token of appreciation. Kaso she's decided to renogotiate. Nakakapikon." 

"Sheesh! Ano ba yan, walang isang salita. Kalma ka na baby, mahaba pa ang araw natin for the Central classroom campaign. Ready ka na ba?" Solenn asked me.

"Couldn't be more ready, Baby." I smiled back at her.

"Yown!" She said laughing at me. 

"So, who's handling that 'stressful' doctor?" Solenn asked.

"Si Glaiza." I answered her as I brought my focus back on my speech. 

"Alright. Matanong ko lang, may gusto ba yung Glaiza na yun sa'yo?" Solenn asked me.

"Nope, I don't know." I said as I wrote a few more finishing touches on the speech I was writing.

"Naku, Rhian. Ako na nagsasabi sayo, meron yang HD sa'yo." She said laughing.
