Hidden Desire

Huling Sandali, Patawad.

Bianca's POV:

It was the day I would end my misery. I woke up Sam before leaving for Rhian's Condo. She wiped the sleep off her eyes as her eyes opened and adjusted from the light. She smiled the moment she saw me. I hugged her.

"Sam, please remember Ate loves you so much, I would do everything to protect you, baby. Please remember that what ever happens, I love you."

"Ate, I'll see you later pa when you get home, tomorrow is Saturday, I get to hang out with you." She smiled.

"Yes." I answered her.

"I love you so much too Ate." She said smiling as she gave me a final hug.

"Sige na, get ready na for school." I said to her as I got up from her bed.

I left in her bedside table a letter along with a bracelet I once owned and loved. The 16th birthday Pandora Bracelet Rhian got me for my birthday and a ring from Pandora that I bought for myself when I was 17. Along with a lengthy letter reminding her of every life lesson I learned in my 30 years of living. As well as the ATM I opened for Sam, which had half a million worth of money. Iniwan ko ang lahat ng iyon sa bedside drawer table nya, along with her diary which she writes into every night.

I also left letters for Mama and Papa, confessing I was in love with Rhian. I left the house for what could be the last time. I drove to Manila to help her prepare for Glaiza's surprise party. A pang of jealousy hits me. Then a flashback from the past.

***Flashback***

I was getting anxious with Rhian's secrecy she had me in a blindfold as she carefully ushers me inside a room. Must be a condo. I thought, it was two days before we entered college. In Lacson street at a Condominium Building. She instructed me to wait for her queue. I waited.

"Remove your bljndfold!" She commanded me and I did so. My eyes adjusted against the light.

Bumungad sa akin ang isang malaking condo unit, the living room was decorated to look like my room. Iginala ko ang mga mata ko. Before returning to look at Rhian who is now proudly standing before me.

"Huh? What do you say babe? A place of our own." She said giggling.

"Babe?" I said still puzzled.

She comes over to where I stood. She took me by the hand and showed me the whole place, I saw photos of us, nicely framed in every part of the Condo. Everything had an allegory to our friendship, the way she designed each room.

"We'll live here on days we can't go home." She said to me.

"I don't know what to say babe." I said honestly.

"You don't need to say a thing." She said as she puts her arms around me.

It was the first time I have seen a big condo, how fascinating it was that a small building could accommodate a spacious place, a safe haven for us both as the years went by it indeed became a safe space for us to see each other as Moe controlled most of Rhian's time and attention. I feel numb. Another flashback sets in this one more recent.
