Rhian Howell's Birthday

Today is a special day for me as I am celebrating my 19th birthday today. I didn't expect anything fancy, no one greeted me either because no one from school knew about my birthday, not even Glaiza knew. Which I don't mind, it was just Bianca, Solenn and Max who knew when my birthday was. Solenn and Max greeted me and Bianca, well she was just silent the whole day. Walang text man lang o paramdam which I found weird.

Pauwi na ako sa bahay, galing sa internship ko. The house looked like it was abandoned, dahil patay ang ilaw which was odd. May mga maid naman kami at drivers. Wala namang brown out sa lugar namin. I opened the front door with my keys and then assumed my fight stance. Once I was in my fight stance, there was no one there. I ventured into the living room in my fight stance. I was surprised because the lights suddenly opened in the living room.

"Happy birthday Rhian!" All of them screamed. 

I saw Ate, Bianca, Glaiza, Mom and Dad. Glaiza was the one who was holding the cake, Bianca and Ate Nadine were holding the balloons. I was left stunned at speechless, Glai approached me with the cake in hand with two candles lit on top.

"Make a wish Mahal and blow your candles." She said. 

I looked into her eyes and on the candles that were lit, I smiled almost to myself. Before closing my eyes. I wish for Glai to be more patient as I reveal a suprise for her in two weeks time. I blew the candles. Glai handed Mom the cake before hugging me.

"Paano mo nalaman na birthday ko today lab?" I whispered to her.

"Si Bianca. Tinanong nya ako kung anong plano ko for today. Sorry, mahal. Hindi ko alam na birthday mo pala." She said.

"Shhh! Non-sense! I didn't tell anyone at school." I said smiling as we pulled away.

I hugged Bianca next and whispered to her ear.

"Thank you, Bianca."

"Wala yun Rhian. Forgive me?" She said.

"Already did, B." I said to her as she pulled away.

"Thank you Rhian." She said.

The rest of my family greeted and hugged me, ganoon din ang pamilya ni Bianca. I am just happy at the moment, because we are here celebrating my birthday. Buo at walang tampohan. Sam hugged me and she told me she misses me.

Pagtapos ay kumain na kami ng dinner, after dinner, tumambay muna kami ni Glai by the pool.

"Happy ka naman mahal?" She said.

"Couldn't be any happier, B was here, so as you and Sam." I smiled at her.

"You and Bianca's little sister are super close no?" She said.

"Yeah, we are. She grew up with me and Bianca, kami ang nagaalaga sa kanya nung maliit pa siya. Spoiled din sa akin yan si Sam. Kaya ganun kahigpit ang yakap sakin kanina." I said.

"Mahal, pwede bang pag sinagot mo na ako, ipapakilala kita sa pamilya ko?" She asked me shyly.

"Sure, I'd love to meet them." I said. 

The night wore on, since it was Friday, I asked her to sleep over in my room, she said yes pero tila kinakabahan ito.

"Lab? Namumutla ka? Anyare sayo?" I asked her once we were alone in my room. 

"W-wala mahal. Uhm, kasi di pa din ako sanay na katabi kang matulog, tsaka ito yung kwarto mo talaga, dito ka lumaki at nagka-isip. Parang feeling ko, trespassing ako." She said.
