Weekend with the Parents

Bianca woke up early to prepare us breakfast. Out of us two, ako talaga yung matakaw sa tulog. The smell of her adobo and coffee filled my senses. Kaya napabangon ako, I freshened up muna and then went to the kitchen. I found her setting the table.

"Good morning wifey." I said grinning at her.

"Good morning din wipey." She said grinning.

"Wipey?" I asked with brows furrowed.

"Kidding, eto na coffee mo wifey." She said as she hands me a big mug of black coffee.

"Thank you, Babe." I said as I took the mug and gave her a kiss on the cheek.

"Maupo ka na dyan, parating na daw ang parents mo in 5 minutes." She said as she sets down a plate of scrambled eggs and her pork adobo from last night.

Maya-maya lamang the sound of the doorbell, came. Si Bianca na ang nagbukas ng Pinto.

"Tita Clara! Tito Gareth!" Masayang bati ni Bianca kela Mom and Dad.

Nagbeso si Bianca kay Mommy and gave Dad a hug.

"What a surprise hija!" Mom exclaimed. I stood up from the table to greet them.

"Mommy, Daddy. Good morning po." I said as I kissed them on their cheeks.

"Ikaw talaga Rhian, pinapagod mo ito si Bianca." Mommy said worriedly.

"Mom, hindi ko pinapagod si Bianca. She offered to cook dinner last night. Na breakfast natin today."

"Hindi naman po ako pagod Tita." Bianca said.

"Sigurado ka ba hija?" Mommy said. 

"Opo. Tara na Tita and Tito. Magbreakfast na po tayo." 

"Siya sige." Mom said as I ushered them to their seats.

They both sat down and we started to have breakfast, ipinagsandok ko na si Bianca ng itlog, adobo at kanin sa plate nya. She smiled and thanked me. 
"Mukhang masarap ang Adobo mo, hija." Mom said smiling. 

"Tinuro po sa akin ni Mommy." Bianca said smiling.

"Please tell your mom that I miss her. Madami lang kami parehong pasyente pero we'll meet one of these days." Mom said.

"I'll let her know." Bianca smiled. 

"Hija, stay ka the whole day, we'll have a cook off." Dad said to Bianca.

"Sige po Tito." Bianca said. 

"Kamusta naman ang pagiging VP Internal mo for the department?" Dad asked Bianca. 

"Okay naman po Tito. It's a little overwhelming minsan. But Rhian is there naman po to coach me through the whole deal." Bianca said to Dad.

"Good." Dad said as he ate a bite of Bianca's Pork Adobo. 

Mom and Dad continued to eat their breakfast habang nagkukwentohan sila ni Bianca. Nang matapos kami mag-breakfast, Dad offered to wash the dishes himself at napagkasunduan namin na mag-gogrocery kaming tatlo nila Mommy. Bianca and I changed into our college hoodies and denim shorts. She was wearing her hair up in a bun habang nag-pony tail lang ako.

Pagtapos namin magbihis ni Bianca, inaya na namin si Mommy na bumaba sa parking lot, kotse ko ang dadalin namin sa grocery. We went ahead and got into the car, sa harap naupo si Mommy at sa likod si Bianca. I drove to the grocery habang nagkukwentuhan si Mommy at Bianca.

"So, may bago na bang manliligaw itong si Rhian, ha Bianca?" Mom asked Bianca.

"Mom! Wala akong manliligaw. Pahinga muna ang puso ko." I interjected.
